Is it possible for someone to scan/take pictures of the commented UML document that Jeffery gave us in class today?

I personally would like to refer to the document, rather than memorize his comments, for when I work on implementing some changes tonight.

(edit: I just realized this issue should probably be in Freedom-Galaxy or Assignment 4)

Class Diagrams - Inheritance (Specialization)

So we need to decide on class diagrams. I'm going to start a list here and we can discuss the specialization specifically. Once this is done (or near done) we can start working on the other styles of diagrams.

None of this is final and are open to being changed at any time.

Seeking Guidance

I don't know about the rest of the team, but I don't really know what I should be doing! Mainly don't want to neglect something I could be helping the team with so does anyone have an objective or plan for this weekend? I understand we are cleaning up the old documents based on feedback from Dr. J so I would do that but somehow along the way I think we accidentally committed blank copies of some of the diagrams, that or github is showing me the old versions for some reason. So if anyone has the up to date versions of them, in particular Galactic State so I can update it, lemme know!

How do you use .dia code

How do I get the code in class_examples.dia into the program dia? I have downloaded and installed the python plugin but i'm still not seeing how to do this.

All UML is due Sunday at 12:00pm!

Please make sure you have your UML diagrams completed by Sunday at noon. Emeth, Chris and I need to complete our overview, and we don't want to be down to the deadline before we can start on them.

What you need to do for the next Assignment.

Okay folks, here's the list of stuff for each of the class diagrams that need to get fixed. These are direct notes from Dr. J. To keep it simple, just work on the class diagrams you made.

Sorry for the delay in getting this typed up!

Everyone needs to make a dictionary for their diagram.

Character Combat

  • Attacker/Defender are more roles than classes
  • Examine relationships more (talked with Sean about this a bit).

Galactic Events

  • Planetary Secrets and Galactic Events are possibly subclasses of a card deck subclass that can "shuffle".
  • ApplySecretDescription() needs more parameters (at least the planet).
  • If you have a secret object (or event card object) it should probably know its id, and not need a parameter for it.

Galactic State

  • Looks good. Orbit should have a Planet attribute, but it should be an Object not a string.

Military Combat and Units

  • Too small, find a way to improve print readability.
  • It's a class diagram not a flow/activity diagram. It contains numerous errors and needs revision.
  • Poor class names (Unit3)
  • Clarity (what is EliteUnits class that is an aggregate of EliteArmy, Elite Navy, Unit 4).
  • Separate classes are not needed for units that vary only in their image/stats.

Military Combat

  • Needs better readability. Separate text section for dictionary details allows for bigger font and scalability.

Missions

  • Greg has been working on this so I'm not going to type this all out. Will review the PR's you guys have and give feedback tonight.

Resources and Taxation

  • Rethink all this in terms of what classes methods are involved in presentation to the user and obtaining user input.

Resources & Taxation diagram

Since this issue has been closed i am opening another. This diagram has an odd relationship statement that requires a closer look. I don't think spending force points should inherit the qualities of military units and PDB repairs. I think this is a user defined relationship where spending gets you military units and repairs/upgardes.

I would like to gain agreement on this before I make these adjustments.
