defaultoptions's Issues

1.12.2 error with commands file

The CommandDefaultOptions.java file needs to have Optifine be spelled OptiFine. (saveDefaultOptionsOptifine) The method isn't working correctly otherwise.

This is such a small change that I'm not going to submit a pull request for this.

Unable to class load the plugin net.blay09.mods.defaultkeys.coremod.DefaultOptionsLoadingPlugin

The following error is appearing in my log file.... It's weird because the mod loads and I can save default configs, they are just never being applied!

[1.16.3] Setting not being saved

Configured Keybinds, load a world, ran /defaultoptions saveall, nothing is saved.
Also ran /defaultoptions savekeys, nothing.

Edit: Was just looking at the FoamFix post, I think I have a similar problem with No Default Auto-Jump
Edit: I'm and idiot, ignore me The file is updated and saved correctly.

[Bug] Not loading the default set resource pack before title screen

Minecraft 1.7.10
Forge 10.13.4.1448
Default KeyConfig & Options 1.0.6

Description of Issue:
So the gist of the issue is that the mod needs to load before it gets to the main menu and before all textures ect are loaded. Because

  1. It's not applying the textures from resource packs
  2. And sound options don't get applied

Even if the game is reloaded the resource pack is still not added. Assuming it's copying the file each time so that if it had changed it sees those changes, maybe?

[1.12] Can't save any of my settings

For some reason, whenever I do try to save all of my settings (or each at a time) or override the default config. the following happens:

  • The override-config files is completely blank,
  • All of the entries in the keybinds files all say NONE
  • None of my shaders settings are saved

I'm using v9.2.4 that runs on both 1.12 and 1.12.1

Fabric port?

I'm currently putting together a modpack and am quite unhappy about the many unnecessary and conflicting keybinds. I use MCUpdater, but I fear it will override the user's own options.txt every time I update the pack, which lead me to your mod. Unfortunately it's Forge-only, so I wanted to ask if you would consider a Fabric port?

Some settings not saving.

Most of the settings save and recall correctly, however a few of them don't. Things like GUI scale and AutoJump do not recall. I do see the settings in the files there, but they just don't apply.

[Suggestion] Load a Player's Vanilla Options File

In lieu of a more comprehensive mod like OptionSync (which doesn't appear to be updated anymore), I would like to be able to transfer at least my vanilla settings to modded instances automatically.

My suggestion would be to load the player's vanilla options, and then apply any modpack overwrites.

In theory, a well configured modpack could distribute only the options they deem important (like setting Mipmap to 0), and then fall back to the player's vanilla preferences for most of the other settings. It would also give a reason for personal modpack players to download the mod in order to save a few minutes in game.

Partially not working

The keybindings.txt file copies just fine and my keybindings copy over, but the options.txt file, despite being saved with the correct settings, does not, leaving all GUI settings default.

Forge: 2768
DefaultOptions: 9.2.8

Here's the file it saved in the defaultoptions folder that isn't working:
options.txt

FoamFix Anarchy Incompatibility (Solution Inside)

Hey there.

I'm currently trying to make my first modpack where I'm also using your mod, but I've stumbled upon a problem. Default Options struggles with replacing my options file, because Minecraft makes one before the mod is able to place it in the folder. The one minecraft makes comes up right after I launch the game and only holds the mipmap level option.

(If I delete the options file that Minecraft creates right as it launches, Default Options works properly and replaces the file as it should.)

Do you maybe have any ideas on what I could do?

Saved options/configs dont load

I set up my keybindings, the server, and the options and do /defaultoptions saveall. Then I put the config files I want to be loaded but not overwritten by newer versions. But the configs and the options arent loaded when first loading the modpack. any options or configs I put into the folder, it just recreates those configs and the options file instead as if it doesn't recognize that they are in the defaultoptions folder. I had hoped this would work, as I like having the ability to set it up where any newer versions to fix little things wouldnt completely overwrite the player's setups every time, but with it not working at all, it seems it would be better to just send the files itself...

Integration for Journey Map

Is it possible to have the journey map also generate so people will get the minimap settings I made that don’t overlap with anything? Like gui style size, mob heads instead of dots etc.
But without deleting their already generated maps?

[1.12.2] Default Options and JourneyMap Compat Issue

JourneyMap Version:

1.12.2-5.5.2 (Latest at the time)

Default Options Version:

1.12.1-9.2.4 (Latest at the time)

Forge Version:

1.12.2-14.23.0.2537 (Latest at the time)

Describe the problem in repeatable steps:

  1. Create a Minecraft Forge instance using the given mods (and their versions) above
  2. Load the instance up
  3. Go to controls and set all the journey map keybindings to None by clicking each one and pressing Esc
  4. Then save the keybindings and create a new single player world
  5. run the command /defaultoptions saveAll
  6. save and exit the game (close the game down fully)
  7. Delete options.txt in the instance folder
  8. Start Minecraft back up and go to Options > Controls
  9. When you scroll down to JoruneyMap you'll see all the key bindings are back to normal again

Relevant errors from .minecraft/journeymap/journeymap.log:

https://pastebin.com/7Qa7aYsw

Disclaimer: Reported the issue both here and https://github.com/TeamJM/journeymap since it only happens w/ JourneyMap and all other mods have no trouble with it.

[1.8.9] Mod crashes when placed on a server

<mezz> BBoldt, Forge 1.8+ has a feature for client-only mods that automatically disables them on servers. Some mods still haven't set themselves up correctly and crash, but if you find one (everything on that list) you should send them a bug report. They need
<mezz> @Mod(clientSideOnly = true)

[1.16.4] Default Options is not applying resource packs.

I want my modpack to come with some resource packs pre-installed, however, it seems to not work.
Here are the files it exported into the defaultoptions config folder after running the command:
keybindings.txt
options.txt

Looking into options.txt, you'll find these lines:

resourcePacks:["vanilla","quark:emote_resources","file/Unity-1.16.X-Base-2.3.1.zip","file/Unity-1.16.X-Dark-0.6.2.zip","file/Unity-1.16.X-Modded-1.2.0.zip","mod_resources","packmenu"]
incompatibleResourcePacks:["quark:emote_resources","file/Unity-1.16.X-Base-2.3.1.zip","file/Unity-1.16.X-Dark-0.6.2.zip","file/Unity-1.16.X-Modded-1.2.0.zip","packmenu"]

You'd think that this would load the resource packs. But for some reason it doesn't.
When I go into [instance]/options.txt, those lines have been replaced with:

resourcePacks:["vanilla","mod_resources","packmenu","quark:emote_resources"]
incompatibleResourcePacks:["packmenu","quark:emote_resources"]

I hope that it's just user error on my part, but in the worst case, the mod is broken and not loading something. Interestingly, the other options, as well as the keybinds, seem to work.

[IDEA] Allow players to save their configs to the cloud

For instance, when a pack I'm using has default options, but sometimes they add a new mod that requires them to send that config that overrides all of my changes. If my data was stored in a cloud, I could could load it back with defaultoptions.

I would personally make it compatible with a local directory store, Google drive, Microsoft one drive, and anything that excepts ftp ssh.

Support Vivecraft (optionsviveprofiles.txt)

Vivecraft has its own options file (optionsviveprofiles.txt) in the same location as the normal and optifine options files. This is where VR keybindings and VR options are both set and it would be very useful for modpacks to be able to have default bindings for VR because most mods do not come with any default VR bindings of their own.

Crashing on 1.16.5

It crashes on startup when using forge for 1.16.5, which should be compatible with mods for 1.16.4/1.16.3/1.16.2 it crashes with exit code 0 providing no information. This is on the sky bees modpack
