If I run the playbook, all the plays run successfully and I can see from the stdout that the kafka server appears to start successfully. However, the broker is not reachable (from either within or without the VM) at port 9092.

When I run all the plays except this: https://github.com/trevormunoz/automation/blob/master/ssmmfm/roles/kafka/handlers/main.yml#L5 then manually log into the VM using vagrant ssh, change to /usr/local/lib/kafka and execute the same command, the kafka server starts successfully and is reachable on port 9092
