I tried to install the latest version on Windows 7 Home Premium x64 but at
about 75-80% through it throws an error:
"Failed to load. Error:The specified module could not be found."
Are there any prerequisites that I need to install prior to installing this? I
tried to search other issues and the wiki but found nothing similar.
Thanks,
Hassan.

1. Install MacType
2. Restart system
-What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected output: font rendering is managed by MacType through the entire
system, apps show new fond rendering
Actual experience: standard Win8 font rendering remains active and CPU is
overloaded by several processes at once (>35% on a Core i5). All issues
disappear as soon as MacType is uninstalled.

This seems to happen with the font "Verdana" size 12px. I looked at many
different sites with the same font/fontsize and the output is the same.
It's not a big deal but maybe good to know if u are updating it for the future.
Posting a picture so you can see how it looks.
Keep up the good work!

I'm new to MacType and had to play with the settings a bit to get things to
look fairly right. All is well in Chrome except for some crazy shadows in the
address bar.
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Configure MacType to render text with a light, close shadow, such as by
using the configuration below.
2. Go to any page other than a website's home page, such as by manually
entering a URL in the address bar, like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FreeType
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
All text in the address bar should look the same. Instead, the non-domain-name
parts of URL are rendered with the incorrect shadow. It appears to be too dark
and offset in the opposite direction.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
OS: Windows 7 Service Pack 1 [64-bit]
Chrome version: 21.0.1180.77 m
MacType version: 1.2012.0406.0

1. Turn on Mactype
2. Work in Photoshop, and change the anti-alias settings within the program.

application software is doing that only.

Everything is seen on the first screenshot: the unicode strikethrough symbol
isn’t rendered properly (for example Georgia font (like on screenshot),
Lucida Grande etc.).
This problem does not reproduce in all fonts: cf. screenshot 2 with Tahoma
font—there it’s rendered closer to normal (still not perfectly).
Also, I think that it’s unlikely that the problem is only with one symbol,
perhaps there is some class of symbols which do all fail

I'm seeing some kerning issues with mactype. I was previously using gdipp and
it rendered fonts with better kerning (minor issues, but overall better). I've
tried different settings to get close to gdipp's rendering but never succeeded.
I'm not sure whether it's a setting problem or some deeper difference between
gdipp and mactype. I'm attaching screenshots as well as configurations.

Also (in fact not an issue but asking for help), though I like the rendering of
mactype (especially all the possibilities for tweaking various font
properties), but still the picture provided by gdipp feels better to me. (see
screenshots: mactype03.png—mactype, mactype04.png—gdipp). just wanted to
now whether i am just stupid and there exists an ini file for mactype that
would produce a picture exactly like the latter.
Thanks in advance!
