affine-community's Issues

What's new page

There are too many buttons and different things to click for help. Let's consolidate these into a smoother user journey.

Changes

  • Remove the "getting started" link (currently opens the onboarding carousel)
  • The "Discover what's new" changes to open the onboarding carousel
  • The onboarding carousel is repurposed to show the new/important features for the latest version - not general features/advantages of AFFiNE
  • A link is added (e.g. Top right) - something like "Find out more" which links to the detailed "what's new" article.
  • Discover what's new (left side button above new pages) must show after an update

Reasoning

This allows users to easily see the main new features, a quick idea of how to use them - and, if they can learn more from the more detailed what's new article content.

AFFiNE Documents and Guides

Pre-loading is too limited and we need to cover more operations and usecases

Changes

  • A suitable entry point needs to be considered
    • On workspace selection screen - add an area to access the AFFiNE public doc centre?
  • This will be a public workspace hosted on AFFiNE Cloud
    1. Preparations to be made
      1. Creating layout and draft content
      2. Preparing videos and other instructions
    2. Whether this is officially released depends on development
      1. Can videos be embedded
      2. Is AFFiNE Cloud completed early enough to allow time for this workspace to be created and setup

Reasoning

Users need more user guides and quick tips to make the most of AFFiNE. Preload content only covers the basics, but we can create short intro guides for various different features and the different actions that can be achieved - e.g. Guiding users through the import process.

Kanban

Adding KanBan (Dataabase view)

Database - links column uses http

With the importance to use SSL and HTTPS I am not sure it is recommended to automatically default to "http" for the generated links.

Entering a link - such as affine.pro in the link column of a database will return http://affine.pro.
