Can you please provide a reproducible example?
from tidyr.
@hadley : I've updated my gist file and I think that it's now a reproducible error :
> filter(temp2, id == 1, trt == "treatment", time == "T1")
id trt location time value
1 1 treatment work T1 0.09
2 1 treatment home T1 0.62
> temp3 <- spread(temp2, location, value)
> temp3[1,]
id trt time work home
1 1 treatment T1 0.62 0.09
As you can see, temp2 gives value 0.09 for work and temp3 gives value 0.09 for home !!!!

I've updated tidyr with the Github version and there is no more problem. However I think that's a real issue on the CRAN version.
