trail-map's Introduction

Trail map

How do I learn Ruby on Rails? Vim? Test-Driven Development?

Our apprentice program has forced us to formalize our answers to such questions.

A few problems make those questions difficult to answer. Individuals:

  • have different levels of experience
  • have different learning styles
  • change their goals mid-process

A good metaphor for the learning process is a (hiking, biking, or skiing) trail map. Individuals:

  • start in different places
  • want to go to different places
  • change direction mid-journey

Trail map

This repository contains trails to help designers and developers learn.

To use these, you may want to first set up your laptop with this script and these dotfiles.

trail-map's Issues

Trail Suggestion: Algorithms and Problem Solving

I believe there are many people who come to the development community from non computer science backgrounds. However employers often bring up these subjects when hiring prospective developers.

I would like to see suggestions or techniques from improving ones ability to reason about abstract programming puzzles and becoming a better problem solver.

Photoshop Trail?

Practical Trail for programmer to learn photoshop?
And it would be really nice with some practical design basics.

I'm making my first iOS app(Independently), and I find photoshop is the hardest part...

Agile practices?

A lot of new people may not be familiar with agile practices, should we create a section for this?

iOS app

Can you release trails ios app as open source project?
