Edges doesn't have a size aesthetic - they have a width aesthetic

from ggraph.

Also seems to be the case for size outside the aes:

library(dplyr)
library(igraph)
library(ggraph)

data_frame("a", "b") %>%
  graph_from_data_frame() %>%
  ggraph(layout = "fr") +
  geom_edge_link(size = 3)
#> Warning: Ignoring unknown parameters: edge_size

Edit: edge_width is what I was looking for and does work outside aes. Note that the documentation of geom_edge_ suggests that size is a valid parameter to pass via ... though:

other arguments passed on to layer. These are often aesthetics, used to set an aesthetic to a fixed value, like color = "red" or size = 3. They may also be parameters to the paired geom/stat.

The supported aesthetics section correctly omit size , but maybe it would be worth removing the mention of size to limit confusion?

from ggraph.
