community's Issues

Use discord in all communication

  • Use link in email-signature, flyers, presentations, videos and other content
  • New announcements on Discord, use Discord-link in communication (social media, email etc.)

Update/enhance documentation

Based on discussions in Dusseldorf, we must review the existing documentation.

  • The structure is not always clear
  • hard to find topics
  • not always updated to latest versions
  • missing parts

Host hands-on workshops

Hands-on workshops are a great way for technology adoption. Use GitHub tutorials, host them in own community but also external communities

Set-up internal communication

Show the cool stuff we do, Be positive, and show the great things and successes. They will share this (informally) with their customers.
Educate internally
Maybe set-up newsletter

Getting started guide

Part of #36
Create a getting started guide, in "a hello World" way, from installation to sending data to Cumulocity/Azure

Keep thin-edge.io community active

Continuous flow of content

  • content agenda
  • event agenda
  • continuous flow of events (when an events takes place, the next one should be planned already)

Participate in conferences

This task should be split in:

  • define interesting conferences
  • work with sales/marketing for sponsoring
  • have developer content at booth (if present)
  • apply for CFP's

Engage with Node-RED community

Thin-edge Connector for NodeRED with Azure, AWS

Possible task for the thin-edge ambassador

Implement tracking mechanism

Important to know how developers find us and if we are using the right channels to engage.

  • Investigate where do visitors come from
  • Investigate for how long on apage/website
  • for events: use special links in email invites, Discord, blogs, other, to see where most visitors come from
  • Investigate if channels are successful enough

Plan a Hackathon

A good hackathon costs a huge amount of time and budget to organize. It is easier/cheaper to participate in a hackathon as a partner/sponsor for same result.

Things that save time

get thin-edge team branded

  • t-shirts/polo's
  • hoodies
  • stickers
  • thin-edge email address
  • roll-up banner ( for video purposes as background)

set up informal technical sessions

it is very useful to set up technical session where we can discuss technical topics in an informal way. Like talking about certain aspects of architecture, or how things are programmed, but also how certain capabilities should be implemented.
