note-that's Introduction

Hi, I'm Lucas Chaufournier

What kind of work have you done?

I've traveled up and down the stack from low level OS and Networking code all the way up to fancy UI's in the browser. Once upon a time I was a networking researcher studying edge computing and multipath networking but these days I mostly write backend code and would describe myself as a sort of "Software Handyman". Give me an interesting problem and I'll get you a working solution in no time. I love to solve problems in distributed systems, security and networking.

Where do you work?

I formerly worked at Capital One as a Senior Software Developer working in Identity and Access Management. We worked on lots of interesting problems in the secrets management space. I currently work at Square as an engineer on the Payments Data Aggregation Team.

What kind of problems are you interested in?

When I'm not solving interesting problems at work in the payments space, I'm hard at work exploring how technology can change the fitness landscape and how we can make fitness more accessible to everyone.

What do you do for fun?

Since I work in computing, I like to escape from the keyboard as much as possible. I'm either hiking, biking, or paddling the nearest waterway.

What's with your Github username?

According to French Wikipedia, "The chaufournier is, in the production of quicklime , the worker driver of the lime kiln." In essence, its a lime burner.

note-that's Issues

Issues with printing functionality

What steps will reproduce the problem? Trying any of the below 3 problems will
cause an error.
1. Trying to print highlighted text.
2. Trying to print the main page of Facebook (the news feed).
3. Trying to print Tumblr.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expect: page available to print.
See instead:
1. Regular page without the highlights to be printed.
2. Just a blank page with "success" to be printed.
3. Just a blank page to be printed.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Lucas's version (revision e04da5e04b46) on Mac OS X (Yosemite).

Please provide any additional information below.
Printing: Works for the comment boxes but the highlighted text doesn't remain
highlighted. Printing also doesn't work for Tumblr (displays completely blank
page) or the main page of Facebook (displays the message "success" and nothing
else). Since the printing function is literally one line of code and I didn't
find anything else in the code that printed out success as a message, maybe we
should look over alternate functions to use?

Implement the Comment Box Feature

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Click on the Extension
2. Click comment button
3. Highlight the text you want the box to be tied to.
4. Box pops up.
5. Type in the box, click submit
6. The comment is now tied to the text. When you click the text the comment
pops up.
--> Optional: The text is displayed to the side always.

When just clicking on a page it adds a comment automatically.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Just click on a page that has the extension running.
2. A superscript will be added and the formatting screwed up.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Nothing should happen when you just click on a page. Output should only be
displayed when you selected multiple characters. Instead it will add a comment
box and a superscript
