Cobbler

Generates Test-Double-branded résumés from JSON-Resume-compatible JSON documents.

Options

Option	Description
`-i, --input FILE`	Read from this JSON document, specified as a relative path.
`-o, --output FILE`	Write to this PDF file, specified as a relative path.

Process

Reads the input file.
Parses the input file as JSON.
Validates the parsed data matches the JSON Resume schema.
Renders the internal template to HTML with the validated data.
Writes a print-ready PDF to the output file.

Key Dependencies

JSON Resume, used for data validation.
Pug.js, used for template rendering.
SASS, used for styling.
Nightmare, used for PDF generation.
Hummus, used for PDF annoatation.

What's with the name?

We love ourselves some spycraft (and/or spy myth) at Test Double, and a "cobbler" is an expert in creating the necessary documentation for an Agent's work.

Cobbler hides JSON validation errors.

Cobbler hides JSON validation errors for resumés, instead assuming that the invalid file is a CSON-formatted resumé.

Example

Suppose the example resumé:

The expected response would be:

Error: SyntaxError: Unexpected token } in JSON at position 15
    at JSON.parse (<anonymous>)
    at Promise.then.contents (/testdouble/cobbler/lib/cobbler.js:31:21)

Cobbler instead returns:

#/: Additional properties not allowed
    at Promise.then.then.then.catch.err (/testdouble/cobbler/lib/cobbler.js:47:17)
