Go Incognito: A Guide to Security, Privacy, & Anonymity

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Go Incognito is now officially a project we will continue to support for future iterations. We are currently in the process of planning & producing a V2 to the project. A free variant will remain, and all current premium students will be auto-enrolled in future iterations for life. To view more information and to leave us feedback on what to improve, visit here.

Go Incognito is a video-based course teaching users of varying experience levels about privacy, security, and anonymity. It’s a core part of the Techlore mission to educate users and transform their mindset of why, where, when, and how to treat their personal information. Go Incognito is available free to watch, is shareable to the public through a Creative Commons license, and features a premium version with serveral perks - also functioning as a support method for the course.

GI3.7: Changelog updates

  • Include study showing Brave phones home the least, and also explain how FF incorporates telemetry by default, an additional disclaimer to continue with the next few lessons to disable all of this
  • Include disclaimers about Waterfox and its pros/cons
  • Specific what was meant when "Brave doesn't give much control over scripts" (paraphrasing) Partial correction is needed for this statement.

"1.4.2 FOSS Study" Wrong Link

In the sources.md file you provided a link for 1.4.2 FOSS Study, (https://ro.uow.edu.au/cgi/viewcontent.cgi) But it only links to a page with the massage "Sorry, we can't find the page you're looking for!" with "ERROR TYPE: 404". After searching through the internet archives and finding the same massage thing from save instances from 2018 I searched "ro uow edu open source" I found this from the same site (https://ro.uow.edu.au/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1938&context=eispapers) this is what I believe is the link you ment to provide originally but did not by mistake. I only ask that you change the link with the one I provided for the sake of everyone.

Thanks :)

Please add a licence to Go Incognito and "channel-content"

It looks like Go Incognito doesn't have a licence set, so that would mean all rights reserved and a bit confusing on what we can do with Go Incognito and what we can not. It doesn't seem to have much legal power in the recent years but afaik you can not share media licenced under this but it has a torrent? channel-content doesnt seem to have a licence as well. A licence to clear this confusion would be nice. Thanks.

GI3.16 Missing Sound Effect

There is a missing sound effect in the intro of GI3.16. This needs to be resolved for the final production version of the premium version of GI.

GI3.12: Multiple AVs

This lesson never discusses 1 vs many antiviruses. Good thing to add to the changelog

Go Incognito Premium Hosting

Hosting premium version of Go Incognito is still an early thing to think about, but it's coming sooner than we think.

Current platforms in mind:

  • Udemy
  • Skillshare

Posting this here to keep the idea fresh and also offer discussion if there's any about it.
