MassTransit .NET Demo

This is a demonstration of how easy it is to implement MassTransit in a simple .NET CRUD API. You can read the full tutorial here. It contains a simple implementation of MassTransit with communication to RabbitMQ on a CRUD service for products, that can easily be extended. The service will create new products in the database using a publisher and consumer.

Key Features

  • MassTransit for easily building a reliable distributed application
    • Choose your own connector: RabbitMq, Azure Service Bus, Amazon SQS or In-Memory.
  • Simple CRUD implementation
    • Super simple CRUD service implementation that can easily be extended.
  • Error Handler Middleware
    • Global Error Handler Middleware taking care of exceptions in the applicaiton, providing the client with a consistent response every time. This can easily be extended with custom exceptions.
  • Well documented Code (inline + wiki)
  • Automatic mapping
    • Automatic Mapping of DTOs to/from Domain Models using AutoMapper.
  • Database Integration using Entity Framework Core.
  • MediatR (CQRS)
    • Implementation of CQRS using MediatR. All controllers will consume the mediator to handle commands and queries.

masstransitdemo's Issues

Add support for Azure Service Bus

Description

Add support for Azure Service Bus as a transport option for MassTransitDemo.

Motivation

As MassTransitDemo grows in functionality, it's becoming increasingly important to support a wide range of transport options. Adding Azure Service Bus support will allow users to take advantage of its advanced features such as partitioned queues and topics, as well as its ability to integrate with other Azure services.

Proposed Solution

The solution will involve creating a new transport adapter for Azure Service Bus, which will be responsible for establishing connections, sending and receiving messages, and handling any errors that may occur. This adapter will be implemented as a new project within the MassTransitDemo solution and will be based on the existing transport adapters for RabbitMQ and Azure Event Grid.

Potential Drawbacks

Adding support for Azure Service Bus may increase the complexity of the MassTransitDemo codebase, and may require additional configuration and setup steps for users who wish to use this transport option. Additionally, the cost of using Azure Service Bus may be higher than other transport options, depending on the volume and frequency of messages being sent.
