piney-point's Issues

Macroalgae displays and nitpicky color requests

Instead of displaying Macroalgae by genus, display by group (red, green or brown). In the field, it is often challenging to delineate percentage of the different drift red algae and are therefore recorded as "Mixed Red" or by the dominant algae type. Change chart colors to reflect algal group color.

Benthic Baseline Data

Would it be possible to put some the historical benthic data into that portion of the dashboard, as is done for seagrass & WQ?

What to do with sulfates...

Originally they were only reported by FDEP, so kept with contaminants page. Other labs are now sending us sulfates, which we can include on the wq page, but... we have a poor baseline for sulfates. EPC doesn't have much data, need to check Manatee Co. data.

The sulfates also need to be pulled in through the water quality data processing workflow, which would require...

  1. Add to parms file, no problem
  2. Find which source files on GDrive have sulfates and what are they being called, problem
  3. Also update rsstatloc if we don't have the locations where sulfates are being collected.

Then once we get the data, do we or do we not have baseline data? If so, include on wq page, if not, where does it go? Just keep for reference or somehow incorporate into contaminants?

Make baseline reference data specific to each month

This is currently based on March, April averages for the nearest long-term monitoring station (EPC, Man. Co.). Because we now have data for multiple months, this needs to be based on long-term averages/sd specific to each month. Otherwise, normal seasonal variation may be flagged as out of range.

Interactive map selection or some easier summary

Drop-down menu for station selection is now a bit tedious since we have hundreds of stations. Potentilal solutions:

  1. Click on map for station selection, this may screw up other reactives though since the click feature is super janky.
  2. Keep old format but add summary plots for "overview" of trends.

Current Data - Benthic

It's obvious right now, but for dropdown date suggest 'April 2021' and 'Sept 2021' (or whenever this fall it occurs).

Fix date order on sav, mcr plots

Not sure why this is happening since date is a date object... this is transect CB-18. Also need to fill out dates between sav, mcr if missing either.

Benthic assessment - language

Since the data probably won't be available for 6-9 months (likely that is optimistic given the normal 15 month turnaround time), suggest replacing

'Samples collected 2021-04-12 (biology, sediment chemistry), data forthcoming"

with the following language (feel free to edit):

"Baseline samples (biology, sediment chemistry) near Piney Point were collected 2021-04-12. Data will be made available after analysis is finalized (expected no earlier than December 2021 due to sample processing times). Additional information regarding the Tampa Bay Benthic Monitoring Program is available at https://tbep.org/tampa-bay-benthic-index/. "
