aura's Introduction

Hi! I'm Sydney Schreckengost. I do weird things with computers. Sometimes I stand in front of total strangers and tell them what I think about the world! I also play a lot of tabletop RPGs like Pathfinder and Starfinder (and occasionally try to write tooling for it!)

Where to find me

Primary Technologies

  • Golang
  • Python
  • Bash
  • Ruby
  • AWS
  • Ansible
  • Linux

Highlight Projects

  • Ansible-Demo - a tutorial and walkthrough of using Ansible

aura's Issues

Allow checkboxes to spawn fields

Request for power adapter field.

Change to "Non-Standard Power?" Yes/No
if No, then "Adapter Included" Yes/No

A wording change is also acceptable, I'd reckon.

Framework to define tooltips

We should look into a way to add tooltips if the user hovers over the field or label. For certain things, I think it could be used to give a basic rundown of how to get it ("From the console, run 'show version'" as an example for IOS kit).
@128keaton?

Inheritance in subcategories?

It'd be nice if we could get inheritance from the supercategory (i.e., Cisco Switches inherit "number of ports" and "layer" from the "Switches" supercategory). @128keaton , what say you?

Units that aren't testable or just powers on.

We are needing to input additional information for products that aren't able to be tested or just power on only. When creating an ad we have to describe exactly what's wrong with the information. If you guys can think of a way to include this with the "Powers on, tested, etc..." sticker that gets attached to products that would be great. Of course if you need any additional information or help I'm here.

Thanks!

Server for templates

Just an idea I had today, a separate repo for templates.

How it works:

Separate GitHub repo with a templates.json in the root. This file would contain a list of the available templates, generating the dropdown. Clicking on a choice fetches the fields from the JSON file on the repo. Updates would be git commits.

Shorten SKUs

For readability and ensuring reasonable SKU scanning.

"Yield" Functionality

Since all items tested will be using the same template, it would be nice if we could specify a "yield point" in the general template (or any template, as in #1 ). This way, we can have things look a little better, like Condition being at the bottom.

Change printers?

We have installed a new printer. I can change the in the code for now, but ideally, a way to work with multiple printers would be nice.

Move Submit Button

CSS issue with submit button leaves it strangely hidden behind a text box.

Hard references break application

@128keaton, there are hard references to locations, and it breaks the server if it's not in those locations. I've updated it with, uh, similar hard references, but they're correct on the new server.
