Неясно что подразумевается под "old hosting". Какие требования для не old, чтобы заработало?

Скорее всего проблема в буферизации: http://mailman.nginx.org/pipermail/nginx/2015-August/048535.html
Мне помогла запись "fastcgi_buffering off;" для директории с установленным скриптом.

Вроде можно установить размер буфера в ноль.
