Sulu is a highly extensible open-source PHP content management system based on the Symfony framework. Sulu is developed to deliver robust multi-lingual and multi-portal websites while providing an intuitive and extensible administration interface to manage the full content lifecycle.

Have a look at the official Sulu website for a comprehensive list of Sulu's features, core values and use cases.

Sulu Slideshow

This repository contains the core framework of the Sulu content management system. The framework implements the functionality that is built into the Sulu content management system and therefore is a dependency of all Sulu projects.

If you want to start a new Sulu project, you might be interested in the sulu/skeleton template repository. If you are planning to extend your existing Sulu project, visit the Sulu organization on GitHub for a complete list of official Sulu bundles.

๐Ÿš€ย  Installation and Documentation

The sulu/skeleton repository provides a pre-configured project template to quick-start your development. Visit the official Sulu documentation to find out how to use the project template for starting your own Sulu project.

โค๏ธย  Community and Contributions

The Sulu content management system is a community-driven open source project backed by various partner companies. We are committed to a fully transparent development process and highly appreciate any contributions. Whether you are helping us fixing bugs, proposing new feature, improving our documentation or spreading the word - we would love to have you as part of the Sulu community.

๐Ÿ“ซย  Have a question? Want to chat? Ran into a problem?

We are happy to welcome you in our official Slack channel or answer your questions via GitHub Discussions! Obviously you can always reach out to us directly via the Sulu twitter account or post your question on StackOverflow with the official sulu tag.

๐Ÿคย  Found a bug? Missing a specific feature?

Feel free to file a new issue with a respective title and description on the the sulu/sulu repository. If you already found a solution to your problem, we would love to review your pull request! Have a look at our contribution guidelines to find out about our coding standards.

โœ…ย  Requirements

Sulu requires a PHP version higher or equal to 8.2 and is compatible with every Symfony version starting from 5.4. Have a look at the require section in the composer.json of the sulu/sulu core framework to find an up-to-date list of the requirements of Sulu content management system.

sulu-docs's Issues

No mention of `sulu:webspaces:init`

I tried adding a new webspace. Didn't see any reference to sulu:webspaces:init in the docs.

Fortunately it was mentioned on Slack before I ran to it but an Adding a New Webspace page would be a useful addition to the docs.

  1. Create file as per existing instructions.
  2. Clear cache
  3. Run sulu:webspaces:init
  4. ...

Add configuration for webservers

Currently we don't have any instructions on how to configure a webserver for usage with Sulu. I guess there should be some explained configuration files for apache and nginx.

Extend Admin Tutorial - Basic Admin UI

We get a lot of questions on how to extend the Admin interface. I think we should add some tutorials to the cookbook.

We should start with the basic possibilities, covering the Admin UI

Preview rdfa tags

Add documentation how to implement the template that the preview can work.

Creating a new bundle tutorial

Tutorial showing how to create a Sulu extension using the GeneratorBundle.

It would be great if we could behat test the docs #1

Behat doc testing

I would really like to test out my idea of functional testing documentation with Sulu. (https://github.com/dantleech/sphinx-behat)

A prerequisite for this would be to make the documentations in RestructuredText format and use Sphinx (as with the symfony, doctrine and CMF docs).

A start might be to implement the installation instructions.

Functional testing the documentation would provide an additional smoke test and ensure that the documentation is always "working".

Describing content events

It would be nice to have a documentation about how to use the content events (ContentNodeOrderEvent, ContentNodeEvent, ContentNodeDeleteEvent)

Improve getting-started

  • Naming convention (currently bug in SULU) no dot in key or filename
  • mention ENV variable in .htacess or vhost-file

Update Welcome Screens

There should be a little introduction and an overview on every single welcome screen.

Getting Started - Admin Interface

  • What is it?
  • Dashboard
  • Contacts (People/Organizations)
  • Assets
  • Settings (User Roles, Categories, Tags, Cache)
  • Global Content
  • Webspaces

Changing environments

We should define in the docs how the environment of a Sulu installation can be changed, and also define some best practices.
