themes's Issues

Space in middle of API Gateway image name

Description

The following image name has a space

https://github.com/structurizr/themes/blob/master/amazon-web-services-2023.01.31/Arch_%20Amazon-API-Gateway_48.png
https://static.structurizr.com/themes/amazon-web-services-2023.01.31/Arch_%20Amazon-API-Gateway_48.png

This means it's unable to be imported via the plantuml exporter I'm using (although it appears to work in structurizr itself)

Steps to reproduce

Go to https://static.structurizr.com/themes/amazon-web-services-2023.01.31/Arch_%20Amazon-API-Gateway_48.png and observe the space.

Shorten tags please

I suggest to shorten the tags used in themes according to the following:

  • Amazon Web Services - Something -> AWS Something
  • Microsoft Azure - Something -> Azure Something
  • Google Cloud Platform - Something - > GCP Something

Check your filenames for icons - it's already shortened there.
It's basically unpractical to have so long tags to achieve the proper icons in target model.

Which tool did you use to convert the Azure SVGs into PNG

There's a new set of Azure icons as of Jan 2023, I can do a PR but want to keep the images stable compared to the prior ones so would like to know how they were converted.

Can just do it using the tech we used for the PlantUml icons if that's good enough

How to apply theme?

I have a problem with applying the existing theme to my C4 model.
What I did to apply theme to my workspace is:

  • download json from this repo
  • convert it to yaml via free online service (I need this because we have yaml C4 models stored in git in our company, ymmv)
  • crop all outside of elements array
  • add 6 spaces to all lines
  • add the resulting text in my yaml file
  • upload yaml back to structurizr

I wish it could be easier, like just an Apply button on the theme browser page, or Import theme button somewhere in my workspace editor. Maybe I just didn't find it? ๐Ÿ™ˆ

Also I would like to import not everything from the theme, but only some items.

Another idea: in workspace editor, in the styles section, you could probably show all the themes from this repo in some dropdown, for people to instantly be able to import those in their workspaces. I actually did the creation of the Azure icons (not all though) by going exactly the way you did, only to find this repo a month after.

Amazon Web Services thems

Question

Hello,

I see that high level components tags (available in 2020) has been removed since 2022 (for example: "Amazon Web Services - Cloud", "Amazon Web Services - Region"). What's the best practice / recommendation from Amazon to document this in 2023?

Do you plan to have a theme including 2023 + missing elements from previous versions or should I create my own?

Thanks!
