RevEye: Reverse image search extension for Google Chrome

This extension allows to perform an inverse image search by right-clicking onto any image in a web site.

The context menu can be configured to contain either a single button with the default search engine, or a cascaded menu with all included search engines.

Install

Stable version: Go to the Google Chrome Web Store and click "Add to Chrome".

Development version: Download the source from GitHub and load the extension into Chrome.

Philosophy

RevEye is free and open source software. To minimize its memory footprint in your browser, it is written in pure vanilla JavaScript and it does not use any of the fancy JavaScript frameworks.

RevEye does not track any of your data, and it does not include ads. If you want to support RevEye development you can make a donation through PayPal, Bitcoin (12358FQL4NuQGrU3vFcUBDBk988iQEUBd3) or Brave tips.

Google doesn't search for image anymore, it just opens google search

As I said, it just opens a regular search age, not searching for the selected image

Abandoned?

Has this extension been abandoned? I see the question regarding the URL change for Yandex hasn't been addressed, for example, despite it being a very simple change (replacing img_url in the URI pattern with just url). Just wondering if I should fork it and fix it myself or if I can expect a fix down the line.

In the options add checkboxes to enable/disable individual search engines

Option to upload a local image

An option to upload a local image from the computer to one or all of the image search engines, like in this Firefox extension: Who stole my pictures?

Yandex reverse image search url change

When an image search is done with the extension via Yandex, this url is called :
https://yandex.com/images/search?rpt=imageview&img_url=<image_url>

While the same search performed from Chrome leads to :
https://yandex.com/images/search?rpt=imageview&url=<image_url>&cbir_id=3748924%2FOoxpPBFksC9GJ7Jw8dco3g

The cbir_id url parameter doesn't seem required.

Search results tab opens at the end of tabs row.

Very good extension but gave it 1 star less because the search results open in a tab at the end of the Chrome tabs row. This is inconvenient if you have lots of tabs open and if you have tabs overflow in a Chrome window, the search results just disappears in the overflow end. Search results should open in a tab right besides the searched image tab.

Google image search is broken

Reveye uses search with image URL, which Google seems to have replaced now by image upload to Google Lens. The fix is not obvious, as Reveye does not support image upload.
