ambitsync's Issues

Support older Android versions

Currently the project sets min SDK version to 23 (Android M, 6.0). I have only tested it with my Ambit 2 on Android 7.0/8.0/8.1. This issue is open to support older Android versions.

Not working on Android 5.1.1

On my Sony Xperia M2, using Android 5.1.1, it doesn't work: I connect my Ambit 2 watch while the app is running and nothing happens. It doesn't seem to recognize the watch.

64-bit support

Google play requires app to support 64bit. This issue tracks the progress of adding 64-bit support to AmbitSync.

Availability on F-Droid?

I've just opened a request-for-packaging at F-Droid: It would be nice to see your app there. Would you agree to have your app listed at that place?

In case you don't know F-Droid: that's a repository for free and open source apps, especially caring for the users' privacy โ€“ as you do with your app, which is why I consider that a perfect match. I gladly answer any questions you might have, and the F-Droid crew will certainly help you getting your app listed.

As far as I (not being an Android dev) can see, you're already prepared for that: I couldn't detect any "proprietary library", and using tags will make automatical updates easy.

Request for one feature

Sorry, it's not an issue as such, wondering if it may be possible for someone to add the ability to actually download the file as it is off the watch instead of converting it, I'm not good with coding myself, but suspect that instead of it doing the converting on the download, that it just be able to be downloaded as the SML file?

If so, then I could try place these onto the PC and have Moveslink upload to my account (Essentially the sync process has failed on my phone which did the initial upload, and I can't resync it with the PC as it sees the data as already been synced.

While I can upload the GPS file, Moves count won't allow you to import them as an activity keeping all the speed data etc.

Screenshots for F-Droid

You can add Screenshots for F-Droid, too, if you want.
https://f-droid.org/en/docs/All_About_Descriptions_Graphics_and_Screenshots/
https://gitlab.com/snippets/1895688
That was simply information about what is still possible. You would then only have to enter the
screenshots in fastlane. This is just one way that you can also add screenshots to the app view
if you can. If you added screenshots (then F-Droid is happy) and if you can't add any -> then
you can close the issue because it was only an info. Thank you that your app is available in
fdroid. Very much for your attention.
