Idiot's guide to building/using?

I know that Wolin is in early days and active development, but I'm very excited by it. I'd like to get my paws dirty compiling and running something, but I'm not a Java developer or Gradle user.

From blind poking about, I've installed JDK (11, for my Linux distro), Gradle 6.5, IntelliJ IDEA Community, but I just can't seem to get it to build. I'm getting complaints about javafx. I've installed Openjfx which is supposed to supply JavaFX, but still no luck...

I'm not sure if you're developing on Windows or Linux (gradlew.bat suggests Windows to me, but maybe the Gradle Wrapper always outputs that). Any tips for Linux building would be appreciated.
