I see the issue there. But I think I gave you the wrong idea. I am not selling boxes or pushing illegal stuff. I have myself, aunt and uncle, brother, sister, sister in laws, and mother in law and a few friends and coworkers all set up to connect into my own NAS box from kodi on their droid machines or PCs/Laptops as I have a gigabit internet connection from Bell and can share my music and media and let them share theirs. I use the super favourites to organize the lists, categories, and sort alphabetically. But I have to update each box individually or send the files over. I was hoping to be able to just change the super favourites folder location to http and I could forward port 80 on my router to let their super favorites grab xml files from a directory listing. Is that possible? When I tried just on my LAN to connect to the IP directly as http://192.168.1.186/lists it loads as blank. When I try from a friends machine to go to my domain from ddns.net I get the same result. when I access from web browser I can download it so I know the webserver works. Should I maybe try ftp instead?

FTP worked. I should have known better because I went thru this where I would back up my kodi setup to the webserver and it would not let me run robweber's xbmcbackup addon over http but it works over ftp too. I appreciate all your help.
