Sure, that would be no bother, it would save having to have a coremod just for the purposes of bootstrapping mixin in a dev environment.

Hey @luacs1998 sorry this took so long to address, I was in the middle of the refactoring mentioned in 693e470 and it made sense to incorporate the solution to this whilst doing so. Can you have an experiment with the new functionality and see if it works out for you. I've tested this both in dev and in production with a test mod I made for purpose both with and without Sponge present and it all seems okay, but I would value your feedback.

@Mumfrey I'm trying this out for one of my mods, and it doesn't appear to work when loading mixin configs from a directory (as opposed to a JAR).
