[1.9] Crash when loaded using Forge

On certain servers which give/take away a shield to imitate blocking with a sword on 1.8, Optifine crashes, but only when loaded with Forge. I tested this using Forge build 1889 with no mods other than Optifine on the hypixel.net server. To reproduce, join a game (in 1.9) which uses swords (I tested using SkyWars) and right click with a sword in your hand. It may take a couple right clicks to crash the game.
Before build 1889, Forge (without any mods) crashed with the same error.

Thaumcraft 5 glitch

When I get the Un-natural Hunger warp debuff from Thaumcraft 5 (1.8.9), the screen goes black. The game is still running, and I was able to close the game. When I removed Optifine, the view was normal. This happened on both H1 and H2 (1.8.9).

Font

Hi, when I enable my 64x64 resourcepack and OptiFine, bold fonts are no longer bold. It's really irritating me and many other users.

[REQUEST] Support for Elytra CIT?

I'm not sure if its currently possible using the already implemented MCPatcher CIT features but being able to change the model of the Elytra like you would do for the Armor would be a great addition

Immersive Engineering Rendering breaking when using optifine

can you have a look at Immersive Engineering and what the heck is going on?

this is called an improved blast furnace and supposed to look like a giant vase but the rendering fucks up pretty bad when using optifine

also many of the multiblocks have lighting issues as they are rendered ISRBH (hopefully i spelled it right) and become randomly darker whenever you get close to them while certain surrounding faces are covered ... nothing that can be reproduced with a certain logic .. it happens pretty random but often

support from IE is limited as optifine has very low documentation on how to work with it or on how to debug ...
i will not let this become a shitstorm but going closed source is not helping with modding

Affecting versions for Minecraft 1.8 and 1.8.9.

It's a vanilla feature added in Minecraft 14w07a (1.8), which allows specified resources(sounds, textures, etc) be embedded into a world folder.
During OptiFine being active, resources.zip will NOT be loaded. (For example, narrations in Alice's Wonderland by rsmalec)
Currently, the only way I know to load resources.zip normally is to deactivate/remove OptiFine.

Random black screens 1.9

Im using the 1.9 preview and i get random black screens

just thought u should know and if u can please fix it

GUI scale and Chunk Loading option

Optifine version: 1.7.10 HD U D1
OS: Linux 3.2.0
Screen resolution: 1440x900

When changing the GUI scale option from normal to large, the Chunk loading option changes as well. This only happens, when the Minecraft window is maximized or the Fullscreen option is turned on.

White Screen Flashes

Using the Optifine 1.9.2 B1, I seem to get a wierd white screen during any loading screen(creating/loading worlds, connecting to servers, anywhere that normally has the dirt background). A small bug but it would be nice if it was fixed.

Optifine wont work

Hey so every time i play on optifine it just makes it really bad quality to where i am basically unable to play and it is very zoomed in. any one else have this problem or know how to help???

Better Grass Initialization bug with Forge (1.9+)

Testing under Minecraft 1.9 with Forge 1.9-12.16.0.1865 and OptiFine 1.9 B2 pre-release. Every time I launch Minecraft (with Better Grass set to either Fast or Fancy last time) and load a creative world quickly, some chunks(superflat) or higher terrain(normal) near to the player will be invisible until any block in the bugged area changed. Loding another world without relaunching Minecraft won't see the bug. OptiFine-only environment isn't affected.

Affecting versions for 1.9. Not known if it occurs in 1.9.2 too because forge 1.9.2 isn't out yet.
This is the 3rd bug working with forge. Maybe there are more than how many I can find out.

Doing custon rendering in ISmartItemModel under getGeneralQuads().

Without optifine a worldrenderer.begin(7, DefaultVertexFormats.ITEM); is called before getGeneralQuads(), witch some use by doing a tessellator.draw(); in getGeneralQuads() then do the rendering they need and call worldrenderer.begin(7, DefaultVertexFormats.ITEM) again before returning a emty list.

Is this something that can easily be changed in optifine to allow this to also work with optifine?

OptiFine H1 Ultra to H4 Ultra (preview) shaders hand glitch

Starting with most, if not all versions related to OptiFine H1 Ultra, whilst shaders are activated the 1st person hand has some sort of transparency glitch inside blocks and other players.

Graphics Card: ASUS STRIX NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB OC

Drivers tested: NVIDIA 361.43 (H1, H2 and H3 I believe) and the latest driver (at time of the issue post) NVIDIA 361.91 (G9, H1 and H4 I believe), both have the same result.

The main shader pack I tested with was SEUS v10.1 Standard.

Working fine - G9 Ultra and previous

Affected - Most, if not all versions relating to - Ultra H1, Ultra H2, Ultra H3 and Ultra H4 (Preview). (All at time of the issue post).

Crash on 1.8.9 Startup

I have been attempting to install Optifine on minecraft 1.8.9 with journeymap and seem to have this reoccurring problem

This setup is running a DedicatedServer AND a client from the SAME mods folder. NO, I do not wish to duplicate the mods folder (one for server and one for client) No, I cannot utilize a dedicated machine for the server install.

Crash on startup with Forge and Resourcepack

Similar to #46 my Minecraft crashes when loading OptiFine via Forge. But only when a resourcepack other than default is selected. The error itself seems to be different.

Also noting that the game starts fine when OptiFine is removed from the mods folder.

Additionally, when starting with the default resourcepack and I change it to a different ones it sometimes crashes with an OutOfMemory error. Which could be something on my side but strangely doesn't happen on a profile without forge.

Glowing effect glitch with OptiFine for 1.9

The glowing effect is a new effect added in 1.9 that's supposed to surround all players/entities that have it in a glowing frame which can be seen through walls. However, when I use OptiFine, it becomes more than just a frame and covers every single pixel on their body.

Resource Pack Blurry Textures

I created a resource pack which adds a lot of weapons. Some weapons use a 19x19 grid instead of the usual 16x16 grid for a sword. In normal Minecraft 1.9 the texture is good, however when I'm using Optifine the image is now blurred.

(Shaders) #elif preprocessor not recognizing options

Only explicit #ifdef statements seem to trigger a setting as "in use," and therefore allow it to be visible on shaderpack menu screens. This makes it really troublesome to deal with some situations. Here's the example I'm dealing with at the moment:

In order to use an obvious #ifdef that would be detected, I would have to add another #else statement, and then it would get extremely confusing as to what code is in what block.

Shaders issue with Intangible

So I got this strange issue with my shaders when I added Intangible to my pack. Happens on both KUDA and SEUS shaders, most noticable on KUDA which is my favorite.
I'm running a few mods, but as soon as I remove Intangible, everything is fine and dandy, put Intangible back in, and I get this issue. I am not sure what sort of data you'd want...

I also tested with just OptiFine, Intangible and KUDA shaders, issue persists.

Disabling "FOG" from my shaders resolves the issue, partly. I don't have the annoying white overlay with the line, but... I also lose the fog effects, which are quite nice :)

Water is still messed up.

It seems like holding an item in my hand fixes the issue completely. Does Intangible add something with no item held in your hand?

FPS increase?

I am running OptiFine 1.9 and CustomSky on a reasonably powerful Mac laptop (i7 cores). The sky is very pretty, but I am wondering about the claims of up-to-double FPS. I see a little higher FPS with OptiFine, but not double. Am I missing something?

Add support for sliders in shaders

It would be great if we could use sliders for options in our shaderpacks. I like the current list ability but a slider would offer more freedom.

I would suggest allowing to set a min and max value of the slider value so there is some limitation possible.

Unexpected Gloomy Rendering with Forge (1.9+)

The whole scene including items in inventory will have strangely dark color when OptiFine is activated via Forge. The brightness settings are the same. Both vanilla 1.9 and OptiFine-only environment aren't affected, so I'm sure this is another issue with forge.
Affecting versions for 1.9 (Tested with B2 pre-release). Not known if it occurs in 1.9.2 too because forge 1.9.2 isn't out yet.

Always night in creative

When I'm playing in a creative world with Optifine, it is always night. If I use /time to set the time to what should be daytime, it defaults back to the start of night. Trying to set it to night times works as normal.

I've had this issue since the 1.9 versions of Optifine came out, and in vanilla Minecraft it works as it should. I'm not running any other mods.

Coded atlasMax

I'm not entirely sure this belongs here, but I guess it's a good a place as any to alert you to it.
Basically, in MC, there is a coded in maximum atlas size (16384x16384), which means that no matter how good your PC is, you can only use a certain amount of textures. An example of a crash caused by this is here: http://pastebin.com/RC8hz2cr
Is it possible for this maximum size to be modified/disabled? Currently we (the BDcraft team) have had to disable CTM for the 512x pack, as this increased amount of textures means the necessary atlas size exceeds this limit.

[1.9, 1.9.2, Shaders] Ender Portal Artefacts & The End Lighting Flickering

Hello,

When using shaders the lighting in The End is flickering a lot and the portal to the dimension is a huge mess.

The only way to fix it is to turn shaders off. Multiple shaders (SEUS, MrMeep's and so on... have been tested with the same result. Resource Packs do not impact this. I'm not running any mods except for the Optifine and its merged Shaders Mod, it's completely vanilla.

Allow for Custom Install Location in Installer

I am using a little hack to trick my Minecraft launcher to install to a different location because I don't want any data other than the operating system on the main disk and I want my games on another disk. This means, however, that OptiFine's installer doesn't like to install... So please add some kind of custom install location option in the installer to make that installation easier than first running a normal launcher's game, installing OptiFine and then copying over the files to my main installation. Thank you!

Game crashes when entering another dimension. Player appears on wrong coordinates

This bug occurred three times when I used Optifine and zero times when I did not.

I was playing on a multiplayer server (vanilla 1.9) located in my LAN when this happened. Let me explain what's going on.

Let player has coordinates X,Y,Z in dimension D and uses Nether/End portal to teleport to another one (after teleportation it should be at X1,Y1,Z1,D1). Sometimes in this case Minecraft crashes. When player reenters the game, it has coordinates X,Y,Z in dimension D1(!) instead of X1,Y1,Z1.

P.P.S. Tell me if I didn't gather enough information to locate the bug. I'd love to help. I love Optifine, but I hate bugs :)

[BUG?] Certain UI elements that overlay the sky/water are invisible/not blending properly

This bug has been existent for a while, and I looked through all the issues and didn't see anything related to it. I have a feeling this isn't fixable, but hopefully someone can help my understand what is happening, as it is slightly irritating (especially at night)

Thankfully recent patches have fixed a lot of the bugs like the empty hand bug. The overlays used to look worse when they were overlaying sky or water... they became super bright white. Now they're just invisible.

This is with the KUDA 6.2.81 Beta Ultra.

It looks to me like the shaders are processing shadows/reflections on the UI elements. Any way to work around that?
