So if this isn't going to be resolved, does anyone know where I could fork the extensions source code?
Great extension and can't live without it now!
Do you have any plans of porting it to Safari or as userscript?
I wouldn't mind if you charge for it.
The result should be:
Hi,
I tend to miss obvious things quite often, so it's possible I've done that here. Do you have Javascript source code in this repo?
Thanks,
EQ
Hi Team,
as attached,
afer click the "save" button to download the Comments,
i do noticed that it's downloaded "SORT BY"->"Newest first", but still,
it's also noticed that the View reply/View # replies's content in the comment, are disordered as seen in the comment page.
don't know why, so i think if it can be optimised to be exactly the order as seen in the video page.
thanks for consideration and possible optimisation.
I really love this extension and a lifesaver on many occasions
I am using Chrome browser Version 103.0.5060.114 (Official Build) (64-bit) On Pos OS linux
I'm working on a project to retrieve YouTube comment data. Your source is great. YCS is showing good performance, so I would like to refer to the operating principle of the program and the original code. Can I get the original source or operating principle of the extension?
thank you
Can you please support for Firefox?
Clicking "reload" on the comments doesn't load the comments anymore or just loading doesn't work anymore. Please fix it. Thanks you so much.
I am on LibreWolf version 122.0-2. When I load any YouTube video, the page freezes the entire browser. I managed to run a performance profile to find that YCS was the culprit. Any idea what's happening?
Hey @sonigy! Love the extension, great work!
Can we have a feature where you can order the search results by the comment string length?
If it can, I'm so happy with it. Thank you. π€
So, first of all, thank you very much for your work. Your extension is so good that it honestly should be a youtube future.
And I was wondering if there is anyway to add option for users to reply a given comment without having to open a new tab with given commentary pinned on the top, but rather to reply to that given commentary directly on the "YouTube Comment Search" box, something like this mock-up:
Anyway, thank you very much for your attention.
YouTube hides a lot of comments by default with standard Top Comments sorting. It seems YTCS only looks at those comments but ignores the rest which can be viewed with sorting by New Comments.
I love your work so much!!
I would really like it if you could make it possible to load all the comments on a whole channel rather than just one video.
It would be nice to have more options for exporting the cache than just "export all"; e.g. to have a list of videos and their cached files, and the ability to select which ones you want to export.
Some videos have multiple transcripts for different languages, but try as I might YCS will only load the default transcript. (And yes I clear the cache before I try.) It would be nice to be able to select which transcript you want to load, or if YCS just loaded whichever one you've selected in the captions or the transcript viewer.
It doesn't make sense that this page only lists links to the Chrome version when it's also on the Firefox Add ons store:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ycs/
The page should list both.
no need to scroll down and do the filters everytime rather an option once checked will auto apply your settinngs on every video automatically and show the upcoming comment near title bar
It doesn't make much sense to me, to sort them by when they were posted. YouTube for phones has the option to match timestamps in comments to the video as it plays, but I'm mostly watching it on PC and would prefer your style with too much info, rather than YouTube's dumbed-down version.
If there are multiple timestamps... It's probably best to show that comment multiple times, with the right timestamp highlighted.
So, it would be interesting if this extension worked on youtube alternative front-end, such as the project Invidious, which allows people to access youtube without all the bloat and telemetry and yadda yadda.
could you make it so we can search comments in a youtube post?
I love this extension. π
I was almost considering making it myself.
If you have 3 comments which have:
You suppose to order them with "Likes" as:
Actually, YouTube formats "Likes" count by user's language preference, like:
So far, so good.
But if you're in Japanese, YCS shows like:
I think it is because YCS considers Japanese "δΈ" equal to "K", but actually, it means "10K".
It also occurs at least in Chinese preference too.
This doesn't properly encode HTML, which can enable XSS. There seems to be some sort of mitigation, since the classic <script>alert(1)</script>
doesn't work. Unfortunately, it seems like this mitigation is half-baked. Something like <img src=1 onerror=alert(1)>
does work. This can be very dangerous, and should be patched as soon as possible.
I had this question that If I want to see all the comments which are hearted and which are replied to by the YouTube channel of whose video I am watching, How do I do that combined
Like I can do it separately but the problem with that is comments get repeated and I don't want to read the same comments again and again (Like for example a comment was both hearted and replied to by the channel so it comes twice and its frustrating so if you could help)
Also if I want to see comments of the above (i.e. hearted and replied to by the channel combined) along with comments which are replied to by a particular member, How do I do that?
And Lastly Thank You for creating such a wonderful and useful extension.
