Welcome to the official repository of The Digital Builders 757 - a vibrant community initiative aimed at creating a dynamic platform where learning meets doing. We're building a space where every member of our Discord and Meetup community can contribute, collaborate, and grow together.
This project is the digital heart of The Digital Builders 757. It started as a simple web application featuring:
- User authentication
- A live chat room
- A to-do list (under construction)
As we open our doors to the open-source community, we're excited to see how this platform evolves with your contributions.
Whether you're a beginner looking to make your first pull request or an experienced developer keen to mentor others, there's a place for you here. Here's how you can get started:
- Join our community: If you haven't already, join us on Discord and Meetup to become a part of The Digital Builders 757.
- Pick a task: Check out the
Issues
tab for a list of known issues or feature requests. Feel free to pick one that resonates with you! - Fork the repository: Make a copy of this repository by forking it. This is where you'll make your changes.
- Make your changes: Work on the task in your forked version of the repository.
- Submit a pull request: Once you're done with your changes, submit a pull request. Make sure to describe what changes you've made and why.
- Review: One of the maintainers will review your pull request. Collaborate with them to get your changes merged into the project.
To maintain the quality and integrity of the project, we have a set of guidelines that all contributors must follow:
- Code of Conduct: Please read our Code of Conduct to understand the expectations for behavior within our community and while contributing.
- Documentation: Comment your code where necessary and update the README if you're adding or changing features.
- Testing: Write tests for the code you contribute, to ensure reliability and help prevent future issues.
- Respect: Respect the work of others. When in doubt, ask for permission or give credit.
