The current pots are bulky and not well mechanically supported.

One option is to make the POTs optional, and require a user to adjust all settings via software.

Another option is to keep the POTs but provide more mechanical support.
a) Create a small PCB that is a faceplate for the POTs. This will gang all POTs together, and can attach to the front posts.
b) Create a small PCB that is parallel to the top and bottom PCBs but fits over the four POTS (rectangular openings for the large vertically-veiwed portions of the POTS). This gangs the 4 POTs together with a smaller PCB than option a.
c) 3D printed solutions.

The mic biasing used is based on the reform laptop:

The bias is applied to the tip and not the ring. This may not work with all microphones.

Test with various microphones and change or update the bias so that it works with as wide a range of microphones as easily possible.

Should cc addresses 6,38,98 & 99 be reserved for nrpn messages? 6 is currently used for MIDI_SIDETONE_FREQUENCY which could complicate use of nrpn later.

The PCB is meant to use JST PH connectors for line in and speaker out:

The part used by Makerfabs and/or specified in the BOM doesn't match the above connector. There is a connector and SMT overlap at one place on the PCB.

Review and update the PCB and/or BOM so that JST PH connectors can be used.

Suggestion to add a vertical coin cell holder to the PCB layout for the Teensy onboard RTC. Not required for keyer use but if a display is added later, other features can leverage time, or just be useful for hand logging while in the field - microwave, SOTA, POTA operations for example.

There have been reports of the teensy USB audio device locking up when used with other USB audio devices on dell computers.
