Itr's fenced, but the gate on S side of E end of runway may be open.

I noticed a conflict on running release.sh for the SIY code. Truckee has the name as Montague R1. Montague DB has it as Siskiyou and both have the same "code" of SIY. Looks like the deduplicate script is thrown by the duplicate code. The waypoints are also slightly different.

I changed the name locally in the Truckee json file to be the same and the coordinates to be the same and that fixes the release problem. But I'm not sure which should be the source of truth and the larger issue is probably that the duplicates check needs a little work for this edge case.

Apparently, iGlide has a strict interpretation of the CUP file format and won't import files that don't double quote the name and code columns.

I figured this out when trying to upgrade my waypoint files for XCSoar and iGlide. XCSoar imported the latest CUP file without issue but iGlide would not import the same file. After comparing with another CUP file that was successfully imported and a careful reading of the file format specification I was able to import the latest CUP file after double quoting the name and code fields.

There are probably not many people using iGlide and I don't think air avionics even supports it any longer but there might be other applications that enforce strict compliance with the specification.

A friend is a Gulfstream pilot for Wonderful, said no problems landing gliders there. Very few flight ops. Probably still no aero tow.

Just FYI, visited from the ground and as currently indicated, the field and the road (before or after the powerlines) may be better options.

In tocup.py commit fe16b50, suggest changing line 29 from:

Active 4/19/22. Over 100' clear, 20' paved.

Visited on the ground 4/9/23. runway in good shape. Car Access to the runway from east end.

Visited on the ground. There are No Trespassing signs but folks are driving there to do car races every time I checked, so I consider it accessible. Airport is huge so should be no problem to find a spot to land, even on the ramp. Comment is still valid so no change needed.

What was a runway decades ago is a trash pile

The previous fields have trees now. Better looking fields south of the junction:

Visited on 4/9 the fields adjusted to runway were overgrown

Did not check the strip as I thought it was long gone but it is very visible on google earth. Will check next time I drive by.

I did check the field on the other side of the lake and it is looking good in case the strip isnt.

FYI, checked Belridge and as the database says the runway is obstructed with equipment and containers so no longer landable.

Now a housing development

The southern point of the "around the horn" flight from Avenal. It was discussed in flight but not marked in the database.

Looks really rough on GE, bad enough from the air.

They use 122.975 between the base and jump plane. Normally Fri/Sat/Sun and holidays. Gliders are OK.

I landed there last year. No damage but was a bit challenge moving the glider

Good for emergencies if none of the other fields are fallow or just plowed

Bakersfield swallowed it up. Now a 30' wide street with trees and fences.
