Observation:
When modems change state at the hardware level the information is populated to the list of modems on the system. This would cause users to continue using the wrong Index and would let to system errors

Proposal:
Use a polling mechanism to keep modems update per duration of time. Since it is running locally, this can be done perhaps 3 seconds apart

I get the following error when I follow the instructions in the README file:

Observation:
Currently it when sending a new message it is expected to select the sending modem, but knowing which modem to use can be very difficult as factors like isp etc need to be considered in the choice. All this information is present in the list of modems being shown.

Proposal:
A button under each modem which can automatically populate the modem in the New Message tag modem space

The README instructs to use port 8000, but when I do it's a 404. The default port that opens up when I npm start is 3000
