Update: i switched the iframe scrolling to 'Yes' instead of 'No', the Y-axis of the line charts is now properly plotted. The problem is solved, but it will be great if can understand the interaction between the iframe code above with the rpivotTable package. Any advice for learning purposes will be appreciated. THANKS!

@King23 Thanks for the nice words (to be shared with @nicolaskruchten). Containing this widget in a frame is a challenge.

If you look at the issues in nicolaskruchten/pivottable and @nicolaskruchten answers, by design the pivot table is supposed to stretch to the right and to the bottom, depending on the size of categorical variables in rows and columns.

I have a pending issue on Nicolas's site to get some suggestions on ways to minimise this somewhat, but I recognise is a challenge.

@smartinsightsfromdata, no problem. For temporary, i just set the iframe with scrolling enabled and it solved the Y-axis problem for the chart . I really love this rpivotTable, it is amazing as we can view the data from different angle at different range of value on the fly. One suggestions can be considered if possible, to make this package perfect. If a column's value being filtered, the column can be automatically marked/colored so users can keep track which column being changed. This will be useful especially we have many columns and made multiple filters along the way, then we lost track which filtered being changed and the current way i did is just reload the page to reset all the columns. :)
thanks!

@King23 Currently a filtered dimension is shown in italics. Are you suggesting to associate to the dimension tab another colour, beside italics?

King23 avatar King23 commented on August 18, 2024

@smartinsightsfromdata, Yes, another colour or bold the text might be more visible compare to italics especially when users having many dimensions. For example, my current use case having total 17 dimensions and ~5000 rows of data, it cause the line chart plotted kind of slow and even moving the shiny page will hang for a while. So, if we can preset the default dimension's value (pre-filter) it will make this package's performance greater. Other than that, the rest of this package is superb! I love it...! :)

@King23 you have seen, I assume, latest examples of inclusions / exclusions for pre-filtering?
