  • Is the problem being addressed significant enough to warrant a change to SDL?

I don't have a strong feeling either way. I'm a little worried that SDL changes will create more work if these templates have to be updated.

  • Does this proposal fit well with the feel and direction of SDL?

    I think it fits fine.

  • If you have used competitors with a similar feature, how do you feel that this proposal compares to those?

I think it's probably somewhat common to provide templates for getting started such as this. Our project is perhaps more complex than most of those.

  • How much effort did you put into your review? A glance, a quick reading, or an in-depth study? Please state explicitly whether you believe that the proposal should be accepted into SDL.

I put a glance into the review. I am not sure about the naming of one of the options, "Add Required SDL". Additionally, I think that perhaps this proposal should be associated with SDL but not in the primary repository, so that changes don't require evolution proposals. I do not have strong feelings on this proposal either way, and would therefore lean toward saying no to this proposal and doing something like having this plugin be associated with the FordDev (or whatever) account, and linked from the SDL Android README.

This proposal is rejected. The core team feels that since this is not a change to the core libraries, this does not have to go through the evolution process. Furthermore, the android maintainers do not wish to support this work, therefore the proposed plugin should be hosted elsewhere and the android project can link to it.
