The evolver (AKA else) program runs in a directory containing:
	default.ne   -- the neuroevolution parameters
	default.body -- the morphology of the character
	data         -- a directory to store data files from the run

The names of these files (except the data dir) can be changed with runtime flags.

Server processes are generally started using the startEvolverDBServers.sh script in the else/bin directory.  The script is preferred because it uses nohup to allow running after the terminal is closed.

The DB server must be available for the server, since processing requests are polled from the DB.  This DB is hard-coded as "evocomp.org", username "vector", database as "evocomp".  The startEvolverDBServers.sh automatically establishes an ssh-tunnel for communication with the DB.  The command used is 

	ssh -f -n -L 3999:localhost:3306 evocomp.org sleep 10

which can be run manually if needed.

Once the process is underway, .state files can be gathered from the State table in the database, or viewed using the application.


To render the .state files, use the script/renderState.sh.  This script will create a h264 mov(ie) for each .state file in the current directory.  Note that it may take a while to render, since high-quality GI is used.

For direct access to the database, use Sequel Pro: http://www.sequelpro.com/
First setup a tunnel (just like the server tunnel):
	
	$ ssh -L 3999:localhost:3306 evocomp.org

Then connect in Sequel Pro using a SSH connection, with fields:
MySQL Host: evocomp.org
Username: vector
Database: evocomp
Port: 3306

SSH Host: 127.0.0.1
SSH User: vector
SSH Password:  <leave blank, use public-key auth>
SSH Port: 22
