@ramnathv I tried to replace the googlevis example with a highcharts plot, but I get an error:
Warning: cannot open file
'/Users/reinholdsson/Documents/GitHub/interactive/highcharts/layouts/chart.html':
No such file or directory
Error: cannot open the connection
It does work with googlevis, nvd3 and highcharts without the console. I also tried to copy chart.html
from the rCharts
package without success.
Code is available here: https://github.com/reinholdsson/interactive/tree/highcharts/highcharts
Have I missed out on something?
Hi Ramnath,
I am practicing the tutorial on http://slidify.github.io/dcmeetup/demos/interactive/. The slides turn out nice.
Later on I changed framework to deckjs, the interactive charts didn't show up in the browser. Then I tried revealjs, still no luck.
Interestingly, I found your slidify playground and played around on-line with 'example 6: NVD3 Plots using rCharts'. You know what, both revealjs and deckjs work perfectly.
I don't know what is different. My R is 3.1.2 and all slidify and rcharts were downloaded as instructed on the page of http://slidify.github.io/dcmeetup/demos/interactive/.

Dear Ramnath,
First, let me thank you for all the efforts you have put to maintain such great tools in Rstudio. I am becoming a big fan of slidify as I am passing "Developing Data Products" course on coursera.
However, I am running the exact example of interactive Interactive Chart with Controls from this repo. I did everything according to the descriptions. But, I can't see any interactive chart. I would be very thankful if you could give me some insight in this issue. I am struggling with interactive slides for a month and no luck in resolving it. I read all about interactive slides on forums and from your slidify website. But none helped me resolve these issues. I am now trying to reproduce the results from your repo. But,..
I get this error:
r Error in if (input[[paste0("runCode", i)]] != 0) return(isolate({ : argument is of length zero
my session info is:

),

)
And here is my app1.R:
require(rCharts)
output$nvd3plot <- renderChart({
haireye = as.data.frame(HairEyeColor)
n1 <- nPlot(Freq ~ Hair, group = 'Eye', type = input$type,
data = subset(haireye, Sex == input$sex)
)
n1$set(dom = 'nvd3plot', width = 600)
n1
})
I have a slide with an interactive console working. This comes with four buttons on the bottom: Run Code, Test Code, Clear Output, and Get Hint.
I am trying to get the "Get Hint" button to work, as I would like to store some code in the hint to replace in the console (to show how it can be dynamically altered).
I've tried using the same syntax as from the quiz widget:
*** .hint
This is a hint
But even that causes the slideshow to crash with the following:
Error in if (input[[paste0("runCode", i)]] != 0) return(isolate({ : argument is of length zero
Error in if (input[[paste0("runCode", i)]] != 0) return(isolate({ : argument is of length zero
Is this simply not working at the moment, or am I missing something?
Thanks!
Matt
Hi Ramnath,
This is amazing stuff! I have a super simple question, I hope this is an appropriate context to ask it.
When I try to include static, pre-rendered images with ![Alt text](/path/to/img.png)
and compile the file with slidify(filename.Rmd)
, everything works, but when I compile the same Rmd file with runDeck()
, the images don't show up. Instead I get broken link icons. What am I missing here? Does this make sense?
Thanks for your time!
