Run code snippets in markdown, similar to runme. Make it possible to edit the code before running it.

Usage

Extract code blocks using the cli:

cargo run -- extract <path-to-file>

Launch server on localhost:3000 and extract code blocks:

cargo run -- serve &
curl --data-binary @<path-to-file> http://localhost:3000/extract

Ideas

  • build a tui to interactively choose and edit commands to run. Look at the cursive crate, or ratatui
  • unrelated: build a git staging tool that makes it easy to stage individual lines. Like gitui
  • add endpoint for uploading a markdown file, return the code blocks
  • get code blocks with cli: cargo run -- extract README.md | jq '.[0]' -r | bash
  • explain endpoint, ask chat gippity what the code block does
  • the tui could have commands for explaining the block, adding it to a script. Could have two windows, one with code blocks and one with added ones to run. Kinda means i have to write an editor for the second one, "oh no!"
