megalodon's Issues

Hope for active development in upstream project

Development on upstream mastodon-android has been pretty much dead for almost two months.
I don’t intend to fix upstream bugs by myself (except I happen to really be motivated or I have an idea how to go about some specific bug) because I don’t have enough experience developing and debugging Android apps. As long as I’m using the app myself, though, I don’t want to give up on this fork either.
Not seeing any bugfixes or new features upstream doesn’t exactly motivate me to try implementing additional features. I hope upstream development will be continued soon, and even if not, feel free to contribute to this fork.

So… lists, huh?

  • Adding and removing users to/from lists
  • Viewing list timelines
  • User listing
  • Creating lists
  • Editing lists: Name, replies_policy, delete
  • Lists in Home section (maybe as “pinned” list tabs, like on Twitter; or a dropdown to select the timeline, like on tooot)
  • Border between lists in list listing: Like in Hashtags list

Consider moving repo away from GitHub

...but where?
(i'm trying to think of something, maybe something where people can still easily contribute - or keep this repo as a mirror for issues and pull-requests? if you see this, feel free to share your thoughts!)

F-Droid.org

Mastodos with the latest updateis simply amazing, thanks !
Why don't you put this app in Fdroid? Mastodos can be more visible.

Invisible Menu Entries

On the profile tab when tapping on the three dots in the upper right corner a menu will open.
It contains three entries:

  • Share profile of account owner
  • Lists of accout owner
  • Favorite posts

These entries are unreadable when using the light theme since the text color is white on a slightly grayish background.
The white text is ok for the dark mode, but it should be black in light mode.

Distinct name and icon

I see that the name has been changed to Mastadon instead of Mastodon, I presume to help differentiate from the official app. However, I think a full separate brand or at least a more obviously different name would help those of us out who are using the two apps in parallel to test/compare.

Even if it was something like how Google brands Beta/Canary builds of chrome with distinct icons, e.g. you could call it “Mastodon Fork” with a recolored icon.

No notifications on Los 19.1

Hi , I'm using a samsung s7 with lineage Os 19.1
The notifications don't show up ..

Can you fix it ? Guide me if you need logs
Thanks for the fork with the extras it's smooth

Cheers !

Feature: real black mode

I use an AMOLED screen to reduce the amount of light i take in from my screen. The Mastodon app has a black theme mode, but it only turns some of the app black. I would like it if the theme also applied to the navbar and the header of the app. Would that be something which could be implemented here?

Reblog and favorites indicator layout

Hi, first of all, thank you very much for the fork. The new features are super appreciated. I was comparing the official android app vs fork recently, and found something wrong with the UI. Here is a picture for comparison: official to the left, fork to the right.

post-mastodon

I noticed the change immediately since it took me away from the post's content. Font should be smaller size, item and property at the same level and since it is secondary information, should be smaller overall. Is it easy to fix it? I installed Android studio so I could help, but maybe it is easier for you since you are familiarized with the whole structure. Cheers

Follow hashtags

  • Follow/unfollow hashtags from hashtag timelines
  • List followed hashtags (but where?)

Filter home timeline

  • Include/exclude replies
  • Include/exclude boosts

Options could be in the settings, like on Tusky

Separate Search and Explore sections?

This would lead to less confusion regarding the state (search/explore page) that gets switched when focusing the search box.
Also, this would enable the Explore page to have action buttons (like to filter the timelines or to manage followed hashtags?
