xduoo-x3ii-custom-firmware's Issues

Similar mods to HiBy R2 Gen 2 (r2ii)?

Hello,
I recently got a HiBy R2 Gen 2 (r2ii) and I;ve been having a blast modding the firmware with my own UI elements.
Recently however, I've been playing around with modifying the actual firmware to remove the useless "Books" feature and replace it with "Playlists", or replace "Album Artists" in the music menu with "Playlists". However, I've been having a hard time getting the button to work. Currently the playlist menu is hidden under 2 menus and it's very cumbersome to navigate to that menu.
Seeing as hiby provides the firmware for xDuoo as well and they have almost identical filestructures, I was wondering if you had any thoughts on this being doable.
If yes, how do I go about doing that? If you could help me, it'd be great, if you don't have the time, could you point me towards some resources that I could learn from and mod the firmware?
Thanks

[Feature Request] Volume control for passthrough DAC devices

Hello, First of all - great project! I've been enjoying your firmware since 3 months now.
I would like to request a little nifty feature: I've noticed that xDuoo X3II [@ 1.2 stock firmware as well as your firmware] can actually use external USB DACs to output music, such as Audioquest Dragonfly Black, however it doesn't have a volume control, so it's blasting it at 100% external DAC's volume.
Could you see whenever it is possible to add a volume control for such things?

Although it sounds like extremely niche feature, it actually would be really convient - it would extend X3II ability to be all-around DAP. Right now if I want to listen to something using such "portable" DAC devices I do need to bring my old phone and swap microSD card with albums from XII to it.
Being able to use XII as "Host DAP" for other DACs would greatly extend it's usefulness, as well as serve as upgrade path - since there's plenty of good portable DACs that unfortunately need at least a smartphone to function - and using them on to go with a phone not only cumbersome but also rapidly wears out physically smartphone's USB port.

Sort by Album Artist

I would like to request sorting by album artist. I have lots of compilation albums so my artist list has lots of artists that clutter the artists list.

ReplayGain?

Would it be possible at all to add support for ReplayGain?
