gvsip.info's Issues

OBi2xxx are also known implementations

Very minor nit. Obi also has the OBi2062, OBi2162, and OBi2182 IP phones, which are apparently the new industrial design upgrades of their existing OBi1xxx phones. They seem to trickle into Amazon (sold by OBihai according to the seller info) from time to time for sale, but are not widely advertised, although they are shown in the OBihai IP Phone Admin guide: https://www1.obitalk.com/Downloads/dev/doc/OBiPhoneAdminGuide.pdf. I do not have one of those phones myself, but someone who does claim they work with the new GV infrastructure.

fi.telephony.goog

Not really a surprise, but there is also a fi.telephony.goog dns entry which points to the same IP as the other endpoints. Since I don't have a Pixel phone with Project Fi I have no idea if they use that endpoint for their current services.

Request- OAuth from Goopgle Login

Was wondering if someone (Bill?) might share OAuth by way of Google Login much like on Simonics.com? I have been trying to figure this out with no luck.

Any code samples would be appreciated , but specifically calling to the Google Auth and in your Simonics example the code in authorize.php and deauthorize.php. If your killing the Simonics gateway this might be useful to others! I do not care much how you process the refresh_token I have planned a method for that already.

It seems this is a far better way to get the refresh_token than the playground.
Thanks

Mark

Any futur solution ?

Hi,

First thank you for maintaining gvgw the service was amazing and we are all missing it

After digging a little bit apparently the only available service alternative is pbxes.com but as i saw some users complaining about it i don't think the service is good right now

There is also a hacky alternative https://hobbiesbytwinclouds.wordpress.com/2018/05/27/how-to-make-and-receive-calls-using-google-voice-without-xmpp-may-2018-revision/ but it does not seem reliable nor secure

I just have a simple question is there a possibility/alternative to to have a reliable sip-gw or the thing is dead for good ?

I guess you have been asked this question a lot... so sorry if...

Thanks a lot !

and what about
https://github.com/naf419/asterisk/tree/gvsip ? (is not that a possible way to get gvgw back even if it's not as cheap as before ?)

start is not disconnect

Minor nit. GV did not state it will disconnect XMPP service on June 18th, they stated they would start the processes then. Typically, that means that even if they stick to the date (and I have no idea as to whether they will stick to that date, XMPP has been declared dead more than once before) there will be a period of time when it may work, or not work, or work intermittently, for individuals as the changes migrate through their infrastructure. Of course, if you have better information that they will actually complete the disconnect on June 18th, please close this issue. I am not sure of the best wording to make it clear that those have been using GV via XMPP should be well into their planning cycle for moving forward. Perhaps something like rather than "would be discontinued on" to "is scheduled to start to end operations on"?
