The closest example of flite in the web assembly environment is this project (wasmtime + wasi + flite) - https://github.com/kubkon/wasi-compute/tree/master/flite-compute

The important note is that wasi is to answer the requirement of execution outside the browser (wasmtime is the runtime in the example). So at this time, wasi is not as widespread as the default browsers, and not more convenient than a desktop app (win/mac).

For the web target, may be easiest to pregenerate WAV files and write Js fetches to load them from GH pages. There should be embedded player in the browser that support the WAV format.
