activerecord-firewall's Issues

Maintained?

Hi,

I went to mess around with this gem in a project, added gem 'activerecord-firewall' to my Gemfile and was surprised to find it not work. I then found that the gem installed via rubygems is a simple Hello World gem.

Is there any intention of flushing this open source gem out to the world? It seems like it could use some documentation updates and a ruby gems update. I can probably help out with some documentation, but wondering if this project is already abandoned as an open source project.

Thanks

Does not work out of the box on a Rails 5.1 application

Hi,

This project does not work out of the box, fails with an undefined method when defining firewalled_belongs_to method. I understand that no maintenance is guaranteed as per another issue, but I expected it to at least function, only because it was advertised in a Shopify talk at this year's Rails conf, so perhaps more and more people will come here to try it after watching that (and people will watch it more and more as they move their Rails versions higher up).

Looking at the code, it seems like a setup path through require is missing. If there is interest within my team we could port it ourselves, but this issue is so that we let you know of the issue and perhaps spare others the need to ask.

Thank you for open sourcing the idea though, much appreciated.

activerecord-firewall: Classification Check

Classification Check

TL;DR

1st party software must have a business impact classification. See our list of classification to help you determine the classification of your application.

Why is this being asked?

It's critical that we understand the business impact of the software we write. The classification of your service determines the level of support you must provide as owners and helps us set standards.

What will happen if it doesn't get done within the expected timeframe?

This is mandatory. If this is not done you won't be able to have any runtimes.

When does it need to get done?

At the latest, this should be done before 2021-07-22.

This doesn't apply to my service. What do I do?

First, leave a comment explaining why it doesn't apply. Then, leave another comment as /not_applicable, and close the issue.
If you change your mind, make sure to comment any reason and reopen the issue.
