where are looking the app for lyrics?

the app found 50% of my Songs not.

Expected behavior
When Spotify plays a song the lyrics show up in the lyrics panel

Actual behavior
The lyrics panel shows the artist and song title but nothing else. The loading bar above title/artist is constantly loading.

How to reproduce
-play a song in Spotify
-open the dropdown notifications menu
-click on lyrically notification to bring up lyrics panel

I'm using it with a "30" in height, it's very comfortable but title - song bar requires too much space, couldn't it change the size to a bit smaller when we scroll to keep reading?

It would be like:

Title size: X
Song size: X - 10

Scroll to keep reading

Title size: X - 10 (or even smaller than the song text font)
Song size: X - 10

I've tried to use your app and time to time it fails to fetch lyrics because of google human verification failure, log attached.

Actually, googling from an app without using Google paid API is prohibited. Have you considered using some lyrics API instead? I tried to google this subject and found out that most of them also non-free, but genius.com API seems to be a solution.

Hello there, I really wish this app would work on my phone, but it seems to be incompatible as on F-Droid it's greyed out and when I try a manual install it throwed an error saying there was an error while parsing the package. So please mr developer, consider adding support for my phone? ;D (Using Android 4.4.2 and EMUI 3.0

Should this app be starting on it's own or does it start automatically on reboot or when music app is loaded? I am using with Google Play. Sometimes though it seems to start running without my opening and I haven't figured if something is triggering it to open....either that or if it's supposed to run on boot, it seems to be shutting down, because it is not always in my notification menu and other times it is.

Lyrically only download lyrics from local songs. It would be great if the app can download song lyrics played using Spotify.

i want to say thanks for this really good project, i used your app for more than 6 months. The app crashes when i open the panel and when i try to download all lyrics. It seems to be a problem related to the requests made to obtain lyrics. I tried different phones and android version but i got same results everywere. Did you got the same problem?

Hi, I'm thinking this app has all what's needed to notify users if the music they are listening is made by rapists or other types other gender-based violence.

Maybe a similar approach can be taken for android, based on the source for this app. If you agree we can start with a fork.

I can't make any lyrics appear, the trigger doesn't react at all outside the app parameters.

I'm using Vanilla Music player and Lyrically 0.3 on Android 6.0.1 and doesn't find any lyrics. The same happened before.

Where does it search them?

Please, add support for YTMusic (that's how the app is called). It is enough bad that Youtube Music service is simpler than any other, so with support for this app at least we can have lyrics for the songs. I hope you can implement support for that app.

It would be nice if the app could save the downloaded lyrics as a str file and together with the music file so people could use it with any other music app in the future.

I get force-close on settings(works 1 or 2 times, then dont work till reinstalling) and when trying to download Lyrics(everytime).

Worked fine before some weeks.
Then i did started downloading Lyrics, but aborted because of slow download. Removed folder from sdcard. Upgraded Android (6 to 7.0).

Tried, dont help:
-reinstalling App in current version
-reinstalling Version 0.22
-checking that overlay and storage permissions are granted

Amy known fixes? Can this be a android 7 related Issue?

How to Reproduce the bug:

1. Open the app
2. Click Download in the top
3. It crashed when downloading that song.

Lyrically can download other song from same artist like that crashed song. After crashed, I can't delete the lyrically notification, but after the device restart, the lyrically notification bar can be deleted.

Proposals

I like Lyrically app, but I'm not satisfied with its download method. I have many songs on my device, and I don't feel like having the lyrics for all. However, lyrically app tends to mandate the download of all the available songs on my device which I see as a bit awkward. In other to make the app more user-friendly, I propose. 

• The download of desired lyrics: Initially when you click the "download lyrics," it displays an option asking you to download lyrics for all the songs on your device. I.e., If you have 100 songs, it will ask you to click okay to download lyrics for all the 100 Songs or decline. There's no way around it. It's either you proceed to Download for all the 100 songs, or you opt out. This is a limitation. Imagine what users with more than 700 songs on their device would feel like, downloading 700 lyrics. Most people who wouldn't go with downloading lyrics for every song will uninstall the app immediately they find out its limitation. The idea I'm proposing will work in such a way that there will be options to choose whether to download all lyrics or select the songs you want to download lyrics for.

How to go about the implementation

I'm sure that the app usually scans through the device to get all the songs and ask for permission to process the downloads of their lyrics through the internet. So in other to achieve a desired result from the proposed idea, the download will be set in a way that users will be asked to select the songs they want their lyrics to be downloaded. For example, if you want the lyrically app to download ten lyrics, you will choose the ten songs and instruct the app to carry out the command.

Benefits

The benefit of this idea is almost covered in the proposals, but still, there is more to say. It will give users control over selecting which song lyrics to download. It will also help in managing your data bundle appropriately especially if you are not on a WiFi connection. I would appreciate if this feature is implemented as soon as possible.

When i perform these sequences of events, the dialog on screen disappears:

I would really agree to add my own lyrics because if the app can't find Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody then what's the reason for me using it.
Yesterday the app crashed and I wanted to report that but today it hasn't done that so it's good

When trying to download the lyrics for offline use the dialog box says "Download lyrics for 0 songs?".

Cleared data, cache. Uninstalled, reinstalled. Tried different versions. Clicking yes to download lyrics causes the app to force close.

It was working perfectly before I factory reset my phone.

Crashing on requesting access to draw over other apps

Would be possible to implement any kind of support for the YouTube client Webtube? I use it because it's nice and allows me to torify the videos but it's not supported by Lyrically

A possibility to open the app or settings from the lyrics panel would be very helpful.
Maybe with a long-tap/double-tap on the song title?

I love Lyrically, is an excellent app for my music. recently I discover Muzei: another open source app to change wallpaper based in famous art. But when I activate this app, immediately Lyrically breaks and don't response until I kill Muzei.

I don't know why this strange behavior.

hey there.

problem: open spotify -> press play -> no lyrically notification in notification bar, thus, trigger does not work either, so no way to get lyrics panel to show.

lyrically does work with phonograph! but: even if I press pause in phonogram, don't kill the lyrically notification that is still opened in the background, then open spotify and play something there, then trigger lyrically, it just show's me the "old" lyrics from the song that just played in phonogram, no matter how often I refresh the panel. so to me it seems that lyrically is for some reason not getting at all that spotify is playing 🤔

any ideas why that would be?

I'm on a Huawei P20 Pro (CLT-L29) with EMUI 9.0.0.163. Thought it could be some weird thing with my sonos wireless speaker, but doesn't make a difference when using the phone speaker... restart also doesn't change anything. I even disabled automatic battery management for lyrically before I realized it worked with phonogram, because I thought that it would maybe get killed instantly in the background or something, haha.

well, hope there is some idea about this, 'cause I've been searching for something like this for a looong time :)

Please add support to save lyrics offline. Much better than Musixmatch and QuickLyrics.

Hi. Every time I click on download lyrics it will show me a message asking me if I want to save xxxx lyrics and I always hit yes. So far the app never downloaded any of those xxxx lyrics to my phone.

Line to line, lyrics text is center justified, but the entire body of the lyrics text is left justified.

I tried the app "download all lyrics" button yesterday and it downloaded all of my lyrics but when I tried it today after I wiped my phone, it downloaded only half lyrics. Can you point me into what the problem is. Thanks

The strings in preferences.xml should also be extracted into the strings.xml so they become translatable.
