kunjika's Issues

Reputation system and trust levels

I see that you have a reputation system in place, but is that the same as a trust level?

By trust level, I'm thinking about a system that define, for example, a New User, Regular User, Trusted User, Moderator, Administrator, etc.

I think this comes into play when it comes to setting how to throttle the number of questions and answers from one IP/min. Should a moderator or a user who has earned enough cred to be considered a Trusted User be subject to the same comment/question throttling as a New User?

Just some random thoughts...

Bugs in demo site

After the first question I posted on the demo, I've not been able to post another one, or provide an answer to one.

The error is of the 500 variety.

Security-related suggestions

Looking through the list of features that have been implemented so far, I can see entries for managing registered users, banning and unbanning, etc. but nothing about the security of the installation itself.

Knowing that this is still in very early stages, I think this is the best time, if it's not already been discussed, to start looking at features like:

  • Detection of brute-force login attempts and how to handle them (IP-blocking, login security & monitoring
  • Ability to scan admin or core files for tampering and prevent them from being tampered with
  • Email alerts on admin successful admin logins and hack attempt alerts
  • Default .htaccess rules that make it hard on bad bots

These are just what comes to mind, but I'm sure the intent is obvious

Installation guide

Interesting project.

I am not that conversant with python frameworks.

A brief installation guide would be appreciated. Thanks!

Infinetely growing user document

As per current design user document will grow infinitely. Couchabase's size is 20MB max. We may defer this now but it certainly needs a fix. Note that certain data is not needed. Also, certain metadata is really not needed.

Different question types?

Should we have different question types like sticky or poll or multiple choice applications to create something like traditional forum or a test QA? Please update this with your thoughts.
