Employee Pay Calculator

The Employee Pay Calculator is an application that allows you to read an employee details file, calculate the weekly pay, tax, and superannuation for an employee, given their hourly rate and hours worked, and save the payslip to a new file, meeting your requirements for a pay calculator application.

This was completed as a project for a Object-Oriented Programming unit at TAFE NSW.

Usage

To use the application, follow these steps:

  1. Clone the repository to your local machine or download the ZIP file.
  2. Open the .sln file in Visual Studio.
  3. Click 'run' to run the application.
  4. Follow the instructions in the 'How it works' section below

How it works

  1. Run the application.
  2. Select an employee from the dropdown menu.
  3. Enter the number of hours worked.
  4. Click the "Calculate" button and you will see a confirmation of the hours entered.
  5. Click "Ok" on the dialog box and you will then see a payment summary preview on the right side of the application.
  6. Click "Save New Payslip" and you will get a confirmation that the new payslip has been saved.
  7. The new CSV payslip file is now available with the employee’s name and date/time stamp on the file.

Requirements

To run the application, you will need:

  • Windows 7 or newer
  • .NET Framework 4.6.1 or newer
