atmo's Issues

Does it matter what order you enter the u and v vectors for atan2?

I see you have a nice formulation for calculating wind direction from u and v component vectors.

Atmo/README.md

Lines 43 to 50 in 2776f63

#Create two functions to calculate the wind direction and wind speed from u,v
# axis. Sonic anemometer gives wind speed outputs as +ve or -ve speeds along the
# U axis, V axis and W(vertical) axis
windDir <-function(u,v){
(270-atan2(u,v)*180/pi)%%360
}

My questions is that the base::atan2 function argument order is y, x (atan2(y, x)). I think you might have u and v in the equation switched. Does this matter for the calculation?
