tidysurvey's Issues

Other packages that would save me from doing this work?

questionr has no vignette so hard to tell. I like that it says it uses Shiny, but where can I see something about that? And functions like cprop don't work with data.frames, if that's true for the underlying data classes and other functions this may not be tidyverse-friendly.

memisc?

Could try surveydata but the limitations noted on its README seem undesirable. I think better to not invent a new class of object, and instead work around limitations of data.frames if possible.

How to retain factor information when data is in tidy form

Say your headers of a single molten survey data set were:

names(survey)
[1] "respondent_id" "q_id_full" "response" "q_id_main" "q_id_minor" "q_id_sub" "q_text_long"

One question has responses like "Always, frequently, sometimes, rarely, never" and another has "Strongly agree, somewhat agree, somewhat disagree, Strongly disagree". Those are both useful to have as factors in analysis, since they are ordered. But with the above structure, they can't share the same column without sharing levels (ugh) or being a character vector.
