About The Project

With this simple web app, you can effortlessly generate a personalized shuffle for your Spotify playlists by seamlessly combining songs and customizing the frequency of their appearance in the shuffle

Getting Started

Using the fully hosted version of this app at https://shuffle.sebastianbrunnert.me or host the app yourself with this simple steps:

Prerequisites

  • npm
  • NextJS

Installation

  1. Clone the repository
git clone https://github.com/sebastianbrunnert/advanced-shuffle.git
  1. Install NPM packages
npm install
  1. Create Spotify App at https://developer.spotify.com/dashboard/applications

  2. Create .env.local

CLIENT_ID=YOUR_SPOTIFY_API_CLIENT_ID
CLIENT_SECRET=YOUR_SPOTIFY_API_CLIENT_SECRET
  1. Run the app using Next CLI
npm run dev

External playlists and artists

When selecting the playlists that should be part of the Shuffle, it should be possible to choose / search playlists that are not listed in your personal profile. Furthermore one should be able to add a "whole" artists discography to the possible songs of the Shuffle.
