Evaluate BABEL & INFORM compatibility / relevance
Alan's vision in the early 2000s was for both a text and graphical UI to the game, via either telnet or a web interface. There is a lot to explore in terms of planet file formats / compatibility with other authoring tools (Twine as well, e.g.)
Evaluate persistence layer
After looking over db_object.cc, it looks to me like there's a straightforward path to replacing sqlite3 with lmdb. This may be a "weekend project" or it may turn out to be a more massive endeavor, so let's give it a try. Supporting other data layers in the future is a "stretch goal"
Evaluate peripheral tools
Alan's todo file has some interesting notes under CLIENT and TOOLS that are worth exploring.

First issue? This project needs a readme. It is currently a reproduction of Alan Lenton's repository, with a GPL 2.0 LICENSE file added.
