careercenterapp's Issues

Automated Testing

There's some testing in the respec directory. Also, some human testing down by Andrew B.

Navbar spacing broken

screenshot 2014-02-04 22 40 38
The white space above the navbar needs to be fixed. It's probably margin-top on that object. There's also an issue with the list items being to close to the top of the navbar. I know this has been your issue @andrewkazura , so I'll assign it to you.

Video

Video: if not logged in, show video of how to use the app. Otherwise, act as normally. Screen cast would make this ideal. Include @finleye

CSV File Button

Create a link button to upload CSV file next to new employer on all employers page or the selected conference. Also, display the selected conference in the navbar.

Display Messages to Users

  • 1. Edit Messages: remove to, from, from role, read fields
    • 2. All Messages: remove to, from, from role, read fields
    • 3. Show Message: remove to, from, from role, read fields
    • 4. Time Field: add new time field to let users set how long messages should flash
    • 5. Flash Messages: Flash all messages that haven't expired

Edit Employers Page

  • 1. Error message for edit employers when they do not have all of the information inputted needs to be clarified. Required fields should be indicated somehow
  • 2. hide created,updated,last edit.
  • 3. table isn't being brought over to the edit employers when it is added by the csv file.
  • 4. image file name is not being transferred when you press the edit button for the employers which is a required field.
  • 5. after a employer is edited and saved it is pushed to the bottom of the page

No Fair Selected, No Map, No Employer . . .

If a new user hasn't selected a fair, the map link should redirect them back to select a fair/con page.

Also, if no fair, admin shouldn't be able to add a new employer without a fair being selected. Right?

Create Testing Feedback wiki page

By now you should have shown the beta website to Helen and received some feedback from her.

In the Testing Feedback wiki page you will put all the comments you've gotten from Helen, and anyone else you've gotten to test your app. Just a bunch of bullet points.

The goal is to figure out if there are any common pain points across the users, and then fix those UI issues.

Can't log in with @email.sc.edu

A lot of students only use their @email.sc.edu accounts. It would probably be a good idea to allow them to log in with those accounts. If I didn't have a gmail account and had to get one to use this app then I just wouldn't use it. Users are lazy.

Also if you are signed into your gmail account it auto signs you in with that account. So if I want to let someone else use this app from my computer I have to log out your app and also log out of gmail. Again lazy user problem.
