when :quit is invoked after running some doodle code the console doesn't exit due to a lack of a hook to shutdown doodle's render thread.

The scala console in the doodle process is killed if the x-windows app is quit completely.

Steps to repro on mac:

• ./sbt.sh
• console
• create some image by doing Circle(10).draw
• quit the x-windows process that pops up with the image

result is that the whole process is killed

A student was using a git shell on windows and running console within the sbt build would hang. I tried the same on cygwin and got the same results. It works using the windows command prompt. Fix it so that students can use the shell they are comfortable with rather than requiring windows command prompt.

Requires 3GB of memory to run the JVM. This is too high if your laptop has 4GB of memory. Bump down to 2 or maybe even 1.5 and perhaps it would work on 32-bit jvm (although we should recommend 64-bit anyway).
