Can't select audio in pavucontrol

I tried to use papillon and couldn't get it to record from anything except "default". I don't know what is going on there, but I guess pulseaudio is being difficult as usual.

However it should be possible to use "default" and then switch the audio source in pavucontrol. But the main loop has these lines that makes the UI controls just blink in and out of existence in the Recording tab:

snd_pcm_drop(handle);
snd_pcm_prepare(handle);

Any reason to have these lines? Removing them helped.

Btw, papillon works with Siberia 350 headsets. Pretty cool. Maybe I can ask you to please put a license on your software?
