This repository contains an easy-to-customize personal portfolio template that was created with React. It is lightweight and fully responsive.

1. Fork this repo.
2. Open the terminal and clone your fork using

git clone http://github.com/{your_username}/hacktoberfest2021-react-portfolio-template

3. • In the project directory run:

     npm install

     to install the required libraries.
   • To run the app in the development mode:

     npm start

     Open http://localhost:3000 to view it in the browser.
4. Before making changes, in the project directory checkout to a new branch with name of your choice

git checkout -b {branch_name}

5. Start adding/modifying the code.

   Do not make any changes to the yourdata.js file while contributing.

6. Add the files you want to commit to the staging area.

git add {folder_name/file_name}

7. Commit the changes

git commit -m '{Your commit message}'

8. Push to GitHub.

git push origin {branch_name}

9. Go to http://github.com/{your_username}/hacktoberfest2021-react-portfolio-template , on the left there is a button to change your branch. Click on it and select {branch_name}.
10. Now you will be able see a button named "Pull request". Click on it.
11. Add appropriate message and click the "Create Pull Request" button.

1. If you get a message like "This branch is X commits ahead, Y commits behind" then visit this thread and follow the steps. Also don't forget to push and pull from proper branches.
2. In case of merge conflict visit this thread.
